This is an interesting place. So, they have slightly smaller rooms (that are nice) within the building/past the lobby. Those are the pictures you see on Hotels.com when you book a room. However, the connecting building outside the lobby has additional "outdoor" hotel rooms, which is what I got. They are larger, but very dated. The connecting buildings are "historic" according to KC authorities and Residence Inn could not tear them down, so they are little apartments essentially that became part of the Residence Inn. The room I got had no main light when you walk in (there is a light switch, but it does nothing). The floor creaks as you walk. The bathroom area is small. Each of these buildings have 3 floors (2 rooms on each floor - no elevator). The building I was in did not smell great as you walk the stairs.
The main hotel building is nice - great breakfast, lots of choices. There is a gym, as well. Location is good as the KC Country Club Plaza is one street over (lots of shops, restaurants, fountains, etc).
There is both street parking (free) and the Country Club Plaza parking (free) right by the hotel. Security patrols the area at night.
I might stay here again if the "outdoor" hotel rooms are updated.
