It all started with room not being ready to check in till almost 4 pm instead of 3:00pm. Had to move from the first room on the second day due mold being all over the place. Also, Safebox battery died and after calling help desk I was told to wait 10 minutes for someone to come and fix the issue. After 20 minutes of waiting and no one showing up, I called again and was told the same to wait for another 10 minutes. Waited for 30 minutes, still no one showed up. Went to the front desk and explained the situation, was told that their supervisor was going to come right away. Unfortunately, it was a lie again! No one showed up and I simply wasted over 3 hours of my vacation time waiting with no one ever coming. It was my 2nd time at this resort and unlike first stay, this time, I left feeling very disappointed due to extremely unfriendly unreliable customer service.

This resort is sad. The property is tired and poorly operated. Because of the size of the properties, we were unable to make reservations at the restaurants as they required 2 days in advance notice. I saw this as a missed opportunity to notify guests of the requirment ahead of arrival. We were left with the buffet and poolside restaurants which both had inedible food and almost unsanitary. Pool drink service was really slow, i learned quickly not to order anything that was frozen (pina colada, etc). By the time the pool server brought it 20 minutes later it was almost melted. I suggest you get in line at the bar before ordering with the server. Staff is nice, service was fine and I did appreciate the housekeeper replenishing the bottled water daily. Best part of my stay was when I checked out.

Great pools and bar service. Beach was rocky. I preferred the pool. The buffet restaurant's food was very average. Cruise food is so much better. The restaurants that required reservations had excellent food, but it was difficult to get a reservation unless you booked early in the morning. The Chic show and dinner was excellent.

I really liked everything about the hotel—the facilities, the restaurants—but I absolutely loved the beach; it’s simply divine. The staff were generally great, though I did have a small issue with the lobby supervisor and one of the people who answered the phone, as I was initially given the wrong room. However, everything was resolved by employees who truly understand what customer service is all about. One area that could use improvement is the attention to food quality at the sports bar. Also, the rooms in the Colonial section could benefit from some renovation, including the furniture, beds, etc. But the pool, beach, and restaurants were fabulous."

They offer pool side rooms which is a lie we were about a 4-5 minute walk to the pool. And when asked the people there were not apologetic at all just this is what you get attitude. Hard to get towels. Food was terrible and booking at restaurants was painful. The pool you could see that it had not be scrubbed as you could see the scum line.

Property is great! I would say the service is what needs improvement! they never refilled the mini fridges as they said they would even after I complained to front desk. Food quality was not what I expected! Out of the few restaurants I tried El Dorado was the best! It is family friendly!

Non-buffett dining options required reservations days in advance even though none of them were full each night. We were there 3 nights and managed to get into one restaurant that was not a buffet. Mangroves around property held stagnant water and produced an awful smell that infiltrated into the rooms. Beach area was small. Pool areas were nice. All inclusives have lost their luster. Good and drinks are mediocre at best. Bars are under staffed.

Grand Palladium has been a favorite hotel resort for the last 7 years. However, the quality has taken a nosedive during our most recent visit. Starting with the pros; the bread was good, and was seemingly fresh, and there were more than enough beach chairs for everyone, lastly the Brazilian restaurant had better quality and variety of food. The good ends there. First off, the housekeeping, none of the staff speak English and are unable to meet the simplest of asks. One of the worst and most unbelievable experiences is when housekeeping left our door open TWICE after they finished cleaning. The minifridge was sparingly restocked, and never fully. Next the salad bar, it was constantly overcrowded with guests and tables but nowhere near enough staff.This led to 10 minute lines to even enter the salad bar, which I have never experienced in my over 18 of traveling to all -inclusives in Mexico. The variety of food was lacking/ not enough food prepared for the amount of guests. It was difficult and time consuming to make a reservation for any of the restaurants. The variety and quality was poor in the restaurants as well and was very bad at the Mexican restaurant.The alcohol that was supposed to be premium was extremely watered down and select alcohol was not available, or available at limited times. Lastly most disappointing, was the lack of accommodations for persons with disabilities. The public restroom was inaccessible, pathway to the beach was unsafe, minimal help from staff

Poor weather during our stay limited the beach and activity options so the room and dining options were really in focus. The first day (Monday) we were figuring out the lay of the land and went to La Hacienda for lunch as we waited for our room to be ready. Food quality there was very poor with items overcooked, tasteless, or cold. It was a very bad first impression. We didn't go back there again. For dinner all of the ala carte restaurants were full so we went to La Dalia buffet which was a much better service and food quality experience. We went to La Dalia for breakfast and lunch the rest of the trip with good results. Tuesday night we went to Bravo (upcharge) for dinner which was great food and entertainment. Wednesday night we went to Portofino (Italian) and it was terrible. 9 people with different dishes and they were all poor quality. I've had better meals out of a can. Thursday night was El Dorado (american steakhouse) and it was fantastic. The filet mignon was perfect and service was stellar. Best food of the trip. Friday night we ate at Bahia (Brazilian steakhouse) and it was very good. Service was stellar from Juan who kept us entertained with banter and tequila. We stayed in the Colonial section in the junior garden suite. The decor and furniture was a little dilipated. I recommend staying in the White Sands or Kantenah rooms instead. The Colonial lobby was great though and we spent a lot of our nights hanging out there with drinks and music.
