Gorgeously situated only 50 feet from the sandy beach in Kapa'a, this recently remodeled oceanfront condo at Pono Kai Resort offers the quintessential Hawaiian experience. Wake up and fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the surf, and spend your days swimming in the ocean and lounging on golden sand.

Ideally situated within a short drive of Lihue Airport on the ocean shore of Kapa'a, this condo is an easy walk from the town's shops, eateries, and oceanfront path that runs for miles along the coast. On the resort grounds, you'll also have access to a pool, a hot tub, tennis courts, a grilling area, and a gym.

This condo enjoys an oceanfront position on the second floor, allowing you to catch spectacular sunrises over the Pacific Ocean from your private, shaded balcony. The air-conditioned interior features a well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, a dining table, and a living room where you can play board games and watch movies in the evenings. THINGS TO KNOW
From October 28th through November 16th 2024, Pono Kai Resort will be undergoing roof renovations. Please be advised of intermittent construction noise throughout business hours while the roofing project is underway.
The resort will begin an extensive pool area enhancement project that will require the closure of the pool and hot tub area for approximately three months. The project is currently scheduled for September, October and November 2025.
This property is managed by Vacasa Vacation Rentals of Hawaii, LLC.

The property is a bit dated. The grounds are kept well. The unit was a little shabby, especially the bathrooms. The bedrooms are large, but the living area is smaller than the pictures make it look. Our biggest issue was that the door code we were given did not work, so upon arriving late at night, we had to call the property manager and get a code to the lockbox to let a key (that was difficult to use)…and there was only one key, so we could never separate from the friends we were traveling with. But the kicker was when I messaged the manager the same night we arrived, I NEVER heard back from them for the remaining four days we were there. Terrible customer service in my opinion. Think I’ll be avoiding Vacasa rentals in the future. Otherwise the island was beautiful and we’ll be coming back to Kauai soon.

Great Ocean Views
The property has been recently remodeled and is in good condition. The ocean views are as advertised. The location is withing walking distance to multiple restaurants and stores. The 7 mile oceanfront multiuse path is definitely a plus for daily walks and bike rides. There is a bike rental shop literally next to the condos and it was nice to find out they had the lowest prices as well. The grounds maintenance crew worked daily to keep the entire property looking very nice. The gas grills were clean and easy to use. The only complaints were the hard to open patio door that had a broken glass pane that had been, hopefully, temporarily fixed with duct tape. The biggest complaint by far is the door lock. The ten character code was impossible to enter on one try and often took 5-10 tries before successfully entering the code. The # keys are way too close together and ultra sensitive making it almost impossible to enter all ten #s without accidentally entering the same # twice or hitting an adjacent #. Door lock definitely needs replace. We aren't the only ones who had a problem opening the door lock as it was mentioned numerous times in the visitor log.

This was our second time here; we love the atmosphere of Kapaa. Our first night was a little rough, we got locked out of our room and had to wait for the rep to arrive. Heather (our rep) was phenomenal, attentive to our questions and needs the entire time. We'll be back, for the allure of Hawaii is magical.

Great location
Great location overlooking the beach. Good little complex. Nothing fancy, but fun and well run. Condo is old, but everything was clean and worked well. Had beach chairs, umbrellas, and ice chest perfect for daily outings. Family had a great time.
