This cottage surpassed my expectations. I knew it was on a fairly busy road and it is described as tiny. However, there is a lounge area, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom working back from the front of the house so the bedroom is not disturbed by traffic noise atall. Size-wise it is more than adequate for 2. There is noise if you sit outside at rush hour but later in the evening and morning the noise isn’t a problem. The hostess, Sue, lives nextdoor and is SO friendly and helpful. We were invited to use her garden as well as the outside seating that goes with the cottage which is provided with delightfully comfortable seating
and decorated with lots of planted pots. Sue provided milk, bottled water and a beer in the fridge as well as tea, coffee and biscuits.
The cottage is purpose built and quite quirky, but spotlessly clean and well equipped. It’s a five minute drive from Howarth and can be walked, but there is a walk on a country road before accessing the path. Definitely 5 stars from me.
