Kettle Creek Fishing - 15’ Vintage Camper Stay on Private property Creek Access

Come stay in our 15’ vintage 1972 canned ham camper. Nestled under tall pine trees, the camper sits within an eye shot of Kettle Creek, which is known for its Trout fishing. Walk-in access to Kettle Creek. Multiple car parking on site.

The backside of the property line offers private walk-in access to the fresh picturesque kettle creek well known for its fishing of Wild Brook, Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout. Kettle Creek is stocked at a few locations and the creek front of this property is one of them. Go through the wetlands to get to the creek. Also just miles down the creek from the beautiful Kettle Creek Reservoir which is stocked preseason, during season and during winter to increase angler opportunities on the lake. Kettle Creek State Park is open for boating fishing ice fishing and swimming. Drive just miles to access the Hyner View State Park and the look-out, popular for hang gliding, running trails, the Red Hill Fossil Site and nature photography. Drive just miles to access Ole Bull State Park with a sandy swimming beach, picnic areas and fish-filled creeks and trails. There is an abundance of hiking trails in the park area. Visit the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette, Pa. Take a walk along the trails to view Pennsylvania's native elk population. Close to Cherry Springs State Park, known locally for its brilliant overnight astronomy observation field for serious stargazers and celestial photographers.

If you need a touchdown spot as you travel through rural Pennsylvania this is a great location. Unplug and disconnect from your regular everyday busy schedule. Minimalistic living off of the grid style camping. Scenic views for photography, nature walks and serenity. Some cell phone service but otherwise mostly technology free to really relax and recharge.

Take a step back in time and visit Kinney's General Store and try the delicious food at Debs Cross Fork Inn. Stop into the Kettle Creek Tackle Shop to gear up or have fishing equipment maintenanced at one of the largest flyfishing shops in Pennsylvania known locally for their nice selection of hand tied fly fishing lewers. This is a very nice area to enjoy the fresh air and great outdoors. Prime location to retreat if you have an interest in the annual Cross Fork Snake Hunt in June and/or are attending the Bluegrass Festival in Hemmersly Fork, approximately 5 miles from camp. Rural road access to Coudersport and Wellsboro.

Multiple car parking on site. Fire pit access and wood for clean burning. Creek access down the walking trail through the wetlands. Electricity available. There are two 5-gallon hanging showers in bags outside hanging under pavilion roof and plastic basin available in camper for bird bathing. Small refrigerator space available in the camper, bring cooler space. Plastic silverware, paper plates and cups stocked in the camper. Electric fry pan. Microwave. Coffee maker. Crock pot for cooking or try your hand at primitive cooking over an open fire. Outside charcoal grill on site. Recycle center located very close, bags will be available for recyclable trash, for you to drop at the center on the right on your way out.

1500-watt heater that does a great job at heating the 15' camper. Fan available in camper. No pets at this time related to vintage camper accommodations. Thank you!

Please absolutely no smoking inside of the camper at all times. Expose of cigarette butts in appropriate area and not all over the ground. Please leave the property as natural as you have found it. Thank you for following this rule.

Camper was clean and the hosts provided a unique experience. Fishing stream is an easy walk from the camper. Reason for the 3 in the communication section was it would have been helpful to have a contact number for the hosts. Our GPS put us a quarter mile away and we had some difficulty finding the camper.

Lovely, peaceful stay
Spent 3 nights to relax for my partners 50th birthday. It was a very cold weekend but the little heater in the camper kept us warm and the fire pit and well-stocked woodpile was fantastic in the evenings. We were delighted with how well the camper had been maintained and will definitely come to visit again! Next time we will be sure to book nights when the moon is not full so we can do some star gazing in the field

Sweet Ham Camp
A wonderful little getaway spot, very clean, comfy, and quiet. Opening the door to the camper was like opening a door to the past camping as a kid in the '70's. A bit primitive with a porta John and no running water but hey... that's camping! The property is beautiful and spacious. We were there for the Kettle Creek music festival (which was very enjoyable), hauled our Harley in and got a ride in to the Grand Canyon, beautiful scenery. We put quite a few things on our to do list for our next stay at this Sweet Ham Camp. Thank you Cherie, it was a pleasure meeting you at the festival and staying at your camp.

The Canned Ham
We loved the trailer and the property. Kicking around in the creek took me back to my childhood. Loved all the little post-it notes explaining things in the trailer. Night sky was beautiful . I'm a big guy ,so sleeping was tight but I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Short getaway
Our stay was amazing and exactly what we needed! The camper was very clean and taken care of. The outhouse was also Very CLEAN, no smell. The motion light was perfect for my 3am trip to the bathroom. (no headlamp needed!) 😆 The field was perfect for stargazing and the lawn chairs they provided worked perfectly!! ✨️The creek was awesome, our friend caught 6 trout, and we saw a bald eagle while drinking coffee Friday morning before checking out. We are already planning out next stay. Thank you, Canned Ham!

Really cool vintage RV in excellent condition! Like sleeping in a museum of the 1970s. Beautiful pine forested creek-side location with charcoal grill available. Easy access to nearby creek. Private.. I had the woods to myself. Was easy for me to contact host. The one bed can sleep two people snugly. Bring your own sheets from home if you want sheets. Blanket is provided. Bring a towel from home. Decent cell service. Small fridge and microwave on site. Hidden gem! Please note there is no running water AT ALL in the RV. (This is NOT a hotel stay, this is vintage RV camping, so I was totally fine with this for a few days.) There is a clean private Porto-Jon on site and complimentary bottled water and snacks are provided. The electric heat is good and I was toasty warm when I turned it on in October. Contact host for instructions on how to lock the RV from the inside (while you are sleeping.) Area is remote but also geographically in the center of the PA Wilds region and a good starting point for exploring that region.
