OCEAN VIEW PENTHOUSE 2 BR 2 BA-AT KAM 2 & 3

Our top floor penthouse suite was remodeled just before we purchased it in 2014 to provide you with exceptional value, comfort and location!

We bought this unit for the location, view, the remodel, the large size, two bedrooms with their own bathrooms, and on a single level (no loft!) The location, view and each bedroom having it's own bathroom are the most noticed comments in our reviews, in addition to being clean and well maintained. If you are staying in Kihei, there are three beaches that are great for swimming - kam I, II and III -and they all have life guards. We are directly across the street from Kam I and II. There are only a few vacation rental properties actually on the beach in Kihei and they are typically 2x the price per night. Besides being across from the beaches, we are easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. Once you go north of Kam 1 beach, there may be sand beaches but the sand ends shortly after getting in the water. In addition the wind is extreme once you get down to all the properties at the north end of town and all the way to the harbor.

Every room has a sculpted high ceiling with recessed lighting and ceiling fans in every room (7 total). There are two bedroom suites - each with it's separate bathroom. There are two air conditioners, top of the line appliances, granite counter top in the kitchen, tile floor throughout, Hawaiian rug in living rooming,, two large flat screen HDTV'S - living room set 65" LED smart TV circa 2023 . Lanai furniture replaced in 2019. Dining table replaced in 2020. We take pride in offering you a fresh, exceptionally clean condo with upgraded linens and furnishings. The master bedroom has a California King mattress, and the second bedroom suite has a high quality queen bed. The queen mattress was replaced July 2018, and the Cal King in September 2024. Much nicer mattresses than most vacation rentals. Ideally set up for two couples or a family with children (we have a pack n Play). So our maximum guests of 4 is four adults with flexibility on young children (we do not allow sleeping on the couches).

Our Penthouse features stunning panoramic ocean views and breath taking sunset views. The suite is located on the top floor (5th) of the building (building B (unit B507) - which is NOT right on busy S. Keihei Road). It is cozy and comfortable and a great place to spend your vacation. This is the only penthouse unit at Haleakala Shores to have insulated and finished ceilings to help keep the unit cool. The suite has lots of windows and is airy and light. Kamaole Beaches II/III (2 of the best beaches on Maui) are all located across the street from this great location. There are many other beaches within walking distance (Kamaole Beach I, Charlie Young and Cove Beach). You can walk back and forth from your convenient Penthouse suite to the beach all day long without having to use a vehicle.

Upgraded internet - 20 mb upload, 400 Mb download. Work from the Lanai! Wireless printer is in the desk in the bedroom.

Our suite has an open floor plan with 16' vaulted ceilings, 1,150 plus square feet, with plentiful windows, abundant sunlight along with refreshing breezes. The living room is the center of the suite and a great area to enjoy playing games, reading or watching your large wall-mounted HDTV. Make yourself at home and relax in the upgraded furniture while enjoying the surrounding artwork including a beautiful Hawaiian rug, turtles on the wall, and other tropical scenes which provides a touch of the local ambiance. This central hub of the suite provides a great place for bonding and making memories of a lifetime.
Haleakala Shores is one of the original condominium complexes in South Kihei. It is well maintained and has a unique architectural design with an elevated "bridge" tropical walk way system between the North and South units. Each unit has it's own "bridge" to your door. Construction is all concrete and masonry so you will not here anything through walls or the floor.

This two bedroom, two bath suite sleeps four guests and the beds are very comfortable. The bedrooms are located on opposite sides of the living room, with a separate bathroom in each bedroom suite, providing great separation for privacy. The master bedroom comes complete with a very comfortable California King-size pillow top mattress - not common for vacation rentals!. There is an ocean view from this room. The master bath has a large shower, built-in seat, grab bars and a pebble floor. The bathrooms have soft, clean upgraded towels. The second bedroom has an ocean view of its own. This room is elegantly furnished, lockable (actual solid doors-not a screen) and includes a comfortable Queen-size pillow top bed.

The "5th" person is for a small child that would use the pack n play be in the parents bed. The couches are not for sleeping.

There are beautiful new granite counter tops in the kitchen making this a fabulous place for cooking your vacation meals. The kitchen is well equipped with new top of the line cooking appliances. There is a variety of small appliances, cooking utensils, dishes, bowls, pots/pans, baking dishes, etc. available for your use. The dining area is conveniently located next to the kitchen and is furnished with a dining table and seating for four. There is a new washer and dryer located in the laundry closet next to the kitchen.

Enjoy our private pool area which is surrounded by lush tropical gardens, it is quiet and relaxing. You may spend some time by the pool swimming, relaxing and/or reading a book. After a long day on the beach you can grill your favorite meal on one of four gas barbecues. Assigned carport parking is conveniently located steps away from the elevator and the suite which provides for ease of unloading your belongings.

This is a non-smoking complex and no smoking is allowed in the Penthouse suite or on the lanai. No pets are allowed in the suite or the complex (yes, we cannot even bring our own little pooch!)

We have an on-island manager who lives minutes away from our complex. Our manager is available for any questions or concerns regarding your stay once you have arrived. The manager provides oversight of our housekeeping and maintenance staff so that any concerns that arise can be resolved immediately. Haleakala Shores has an on site manager as well.

There are many things to do in Maui: Golfing, tennis, swimming, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, kite surfing, down hill biking, paddle boarding, wine tasting, horseback riding, taking the road to Hana, hiking in Iao Valley State Park, and the viewing of beautiful waterfalls. Visiting other areas like Maalaea Harbor, Lahania, islands of Molokai, Molokini and Lanai, upcountry towns, the shops and beaches of Wailea, the Pacific Whale Foundation, aquarium, Makena State Park, and Mt. Haleakala.

Things we love to do when vacationing in Maui include: Going to the beach and building sand castles or paddle boarding in the serenity of the wide blue ocean, going to the pool, relaxing and having a nice cold drink, snorkeling in the reef and seeing the beautiful tropical fish and turtles, eating shaved ice, walking down the beach walkway, skating at the outdoor rink at sunset, shoreline walks, watching breath taking sunsets daily, and slowing down enough to enjoy life, and bond with our family.


Policies: A deposit of 25% of suite rate is required to hold your reservation. Early and late check in/outs are available if there is not a same day check in or check out. Please let us know in advance to schedule the cleaners. Our condo maximum occupancy is 4, but we will consider 5 if they are a small child.

Cancellation Policy: Before 60 days 100% refund less $150.00 processing fee.
30 to 60 days 50% refund less $150.00 processing fee (unless we rent the unit) . Less than 30 days no refund unless we rent the unit less $150.00 processing fee. Please see our rental contract for further details (this is per the VRBO "strict" cancellation policy with exception of processing fee and refund if we rent the unit) . So far after 8 years we have not kept a cancellation as we have always been able to re rent the unit.

Disappointed for the price
We have been in Maui six of the last eight years during peak whale season and rented condos in four different groups. This one is in serious need of maintenance, cleaning, and attention to details. The details contained in the listing led us to believe the property and ocean view were better than observed. The kitchen counter tops and appliances were wonderful to look at and use. However, the counter tops hid everything. By that I mean, we couldn't tell when the last time the counters had been cleaned because we couldn't tell when we had. The pots, pans, and knives to prepare food were limited, lower quality, and/or in need of maintenance. The doors covering the washer/dryer were completely off the lower rail and difficult to use. The ceiling fan blades haven't been cleaned in a while. The walls near the ceiling fans haven't been cleaned in a while. When we arrived there was enough sand throughout the condo that we had to wipe our feet prior to getting into bed and we always remove our shoes at the door. There were some very nice ladies undies left from a previous guest in one of the dresser drawers. There were no boogie boards. There wasn't a cooler of any kind to use. There were mini bars of soap vs foam or liquid soap at all sinks. There were two rolls of TP for four guests for 16 nights. We donated our left-overs to one of the four less fortunate folks living in their vans below your lanai. We feel for the people of Maui. It is not as it was two years ago. Mahalo

Great stay with littles!
Thank you for a great stay! We had two nights in Paia and then three at this lovely condo. The place was really clean and well stocked - everything from umbrellas to coffee filters. The patio was my favorite and my boys loved the pool. The location was great too. My young sons’ got their first snorkel in and got super comfortable body surfing in the water at Kam III. And just a short drive to the aquarium in one direction and Makena beach in the other. We would definitely come back.

The owners and manager of this property responded as quick as they could to an AC issue that occurred upon our arrival. The owners reached out to our party for compensation however we declined understanding that things like this happen. It did take a few days and some interruptions keeping updated on repairs. Great stay in beautiful location
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely condo in a wonderful location. It was a short walk to three beautiful beaches. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the beaches and nearby parks. Very easy access to everything we needed, such as restaurants and grocery stores. We were able to prepare some of our food in the well equipped kitchen and walk to nearby restaurants for dinners out. It was a great home basefor lots of fabulous adventures on the island. The property owner was very helpful and responsive. We appreciated the elevator as the property is on the fifth floor. We found that when we followed the recommendation to open up all the windows and turn on fans, it stayed nice and cool and we did not need the air conditioner. We appreciate the beach chairs and other beach equipment available tomorrow. Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely vacation home. Was.

Wonderful location in Kihei
Our family had a great stay in the condo. The location is convenient to both beaches and restaurants and we appreciated access to the beach equipment. There was good snorkeling right across the street at the end of the Cam 3 beach. Our family had plenty of space and the kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed for cooking meals. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Maui.

Great penthouse view and great location to multiple beaches and the rest of Kihei. Unfortunately, the pool was very dirty our entire stay. Cloudy water and sand on the bottom. It was never properly cleaned in the 2 weeks we were there. We contacted the property manager but the issue was never resolved and no follow up was made. Unfortunately we were unable to use the pool for our 2 week stay.

Delightful Condo So Close To The Beach!
Quiet complex in an awesome location. So lovely to walk across the street to see the amazing sunsets each evening. The unit was spacious and well stocked with everything you could possibly need...plenty of towels, beach equipment, and well appointed kitchen. The location was a short stroll away from restaurants, shops, and activities. The comfortable space was loaded with windows and ceiling fans and the cross ventilation breeze was refreshing. Two A/C units are available if needed and are on timers which as a environmentalist I really appreciated. Less waisted energy and honestly we didn't really need them even on the very warm days. Steve was a wonderful host and I appreciate his willingness to accommodate me on short notice. I have stayed in Kihei several times and his penthouse is a favorite among gems!

The condo was perfect: clean, spacious , fully equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, great ventilation, sunset view from the lanai, lots of beach towels, toys and chairs, etc etc. GREAT location at Kam III & II, lots of shops and restaurants a short walk away. And Steve was one of the best host’s I’ve had in my decades of travel: a real person, has the place so well set up, quick to reply and generous with helpful suggestions. I absolutely recommend this stay and would certainly reserve again.

Beautiful open space, fresh, cool breeze, and phenomenal sunsets!
This property is centrally located in Kihei. I live in Makawao, Upcountry, but stayed in this roomy, open penthouse when my mother came to visit me from Texas. Took the advice of the owners to, rather than run the A/C units, enjoy the Maui breeze. If you open certain windows and utilize the many ceiling fans, a constant cool breeze circulates throughout the rooms. So refreshing! Also, the sunsets from the balcony are breathtaking. Had such a time staying at this condo. Super convenient. Nothing to complain about the place. The only thing I suggest is maybe writing out somewhere that the AC and fans are ran off a timer. It took us a min to figure out how things like that worked. But thats just being picky. I'd def come back and stay there!

Enjoyable Condo across from Kamaole III
This was a lovely 2 bad 2 bad double master condo locate in South Kihei. We enjoyed sunset from the lanai as well as a spectacular one at Keawakapu Beach just a short drive away. S.Kihei is such a great place to stay. The condo had beach gear available and made the trip that much less stress. Steven was prompt with responses to questions and just note when arriving come in from the north most driveway to access the assigned parking.

Great location! Quiet complex. Lovely pool, never crowded. The condo is clean and the kitchen is well stocked. We enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s a block to the beach and restaurants/ shops are just down the street. We would definitely stay there again.

Great holiday with Family
Very well outfitted for kitchen supplies . Beds were comfy . Extra touches like TP, Paper Towels, lovely fluffy towels , soap & detergent all much appreciated ! It’s a lovely set up for 2 couples with ample room to spread out . We might suggest checking the dishwasher as it’s not not cleaning properly . We washed ours in the sink . We must add that having all the beach chairs etc was so appreciated ! Thank you for a wonderful holiday

Great location. Lovely stay.
The unit was clean, spacious, and a perfect set up for two couples as the bedrooms are on opposite sides. It was a great bonus to have beach chairs and an umbrella available. Right across from Kamaole point. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or stay again. Thank you Steven and Patricia!

Fabulous stay!
The condo is spacious, clean, fully stocked and so comfortable! It’s a split floor plan with en suite full bathrooms in both bedrooms. Large living room with comfortable furniture, dining area and a great kitchen! The entire unit is tiled which is cleaner and easier to live on at the beach. The lanai is delightful! We had coffee, tea and breakfast out there every morning of our stay. This unit has it all including a bunch of beach gear, towels, umbrellas, etc. There are ac units which we only used occasionally because there are numerous ceiling fans and amazing breezes that keep the unit’s temperature perfect. A great stay, SO much better than a hotel!
