Larches Cottage is a pretty little three bedroomed cottage in an enclosed L shaped upper courtyard along with two other cottages.

(There is a lower courtyard with access to the communal garden and barbeque area.)

The kitchen and living room are one combined, open plan space.

Kitchen; There is a farmhouse kitchen table with five chairs and two bar stools at the kitchen worktop area.

Living room: there are two big sofas, a bean bag, small arm chair and an electric 'gas' fire.

Downstairs WC and sink. Stairs up to the bedrooms and small bathroom. I x King, 1 x Twin and 1 x Single. Each with chest of drawers and wardrobe (except the twin - there is a clothes rail in the airing cupboard if needed).

Nestling deep in the heart of the South Hams, the cottage is in a great position to explore the local beaches and country walks.

Lovely few family days away

Our family with 2 children enjoyed our stay at the cottage- it was cosy for the winter days and had everything we needed. Host was really flexible for check in and out times. Location is lovely and rural but with beautiful beaches in reach plus a lovely local pub. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Beautiful Cottage

We had a lovely week here with out two teenagers, the cottage was super clean and had all the amenities you would need, Inc all the kitchen gadgets you need to cook with which makes life easy and saves bringing extra stuff. Great communication with host before our stay and the instructions for our visit were easy to follow. We loved the location and the comfort of the cottage. Just beautiful!! We would highly recommend and visit again.

Great getaway

Beautiful setting

Wonderful setting, skinny lanes don't scare us! It as good place to stay where you could get to so many of the attractions. Slapton, Blackpool Sands, Totnes, Dartmouth and not too far to Paignton either. Saw family and enjoyed swimming in the sea. Lucky with the weather. House was lovely, great setting to get together with my family from Doncaster and bring back some wonderful childhood memories of visiting Strete where Nan lived. 😍

Great family break

This was a lovely property, even better than the photos. Perfect layout for our family of 4x and well equipped with everything we needed. Great location close to Slapton sands and lovely coastal walks, pubs and rivers.

Beautiful property in a stunning area.

Fantastic and well looked after property. Lots of space, clean and comfortable. Great location to travel the South coast of Devon. The owners were brilliant with communication to make sure we knew how to get there, check in and that we were comfortable. We are a family with two young children and I would highly recommend for anyone to stay at this property. We would definitely come back here in the future. Thanks

A lovely cottage in a development of a dozen cottages.

This is a very nice cottage with one large room and a toilet downstairs and 3 nice bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. It is part of an E-shaped development around 2 courtyards and we were lucky that the neighbouring holidaymakers were very quiet. The cottage is in very good condition and very clean with all the equipment and facilities we needed.

Cosy and well equipped cottage

We stayed at Larches for a week and loved our stay there. The location is very peaceful and isn’t far to beautiful beaches in one direction and shops and facilities in the other (Kingsbridge is lovely). Having stayed at many self catering properties over the years, Larches is up there for the best equipped and comfort level. It’s a very spacious house and we loved the open plan kitchen and lounge. We would definitely recommend and hope to return again.

The property is well equipped. Parking can be a problem. I suggest notices saying this space is allocated to ........ cottage This would ensure that at least one occupant can park their car in the forecourt. apart from that we had a very enjoyable stay.

An unexpected week!

Very comfortable and convenient. Brilliant to be able to park safely and within 2m of front door! Very peaceful. Nicely decorated. Relaxing. Would book again. Excellent backup but too many Home and Away emails beforehand.....

What we thought...

Very well equipped with kitchen items - perhaps more T-towels and a hand towel in downstairs loo is needed. Certainly spacious for the five of us with comfortable bedrooms; interesting outside space, though a seat/bench outside Larches would by useful.

Review of The Larches

Fabulous place to stay. The cottage was well equipped, clean and the beds were so comfy. Plenty of towels and the bed linen was spotless. Full use of the garden, which was huge, and so handy for the dog. The lanes around the area were narrow, but once you got used to them and where you were going they were ok. The property itself was well worth the odd tractor problem.

Lovely, well equipped barn conversion. Very comfortable and clean. There is internet and some mobile phone signal (o2 and EE) and the roads are easier to navigate than some previous reviews imply.

Loved the cottage. Well appointed ( dish washer, etc ). And most importantly, dog friendly. Had a nice vibe to it. No phone signal unless you are on dog walk hill, but there is wifi. Getting there is a beast on the Devon lanes buts that's part of the adventure. 10/10 from me.

Pretty, country property

The Larches is a pretty country property in a converted outbuilding of Buckland House with access to the surrounding gardens. Furnishings were as advertised and we found the property was clean and equipped with fresh sheets and towels upon arrival. A car is essential and renters should be aware that access to the nearest main road - between Totnes and Kingsbridge - is via four miles of hilly, narrow lanes. In all, we enjoyed our visit and would recommend this property to anyone seeking a quiet spot to spend a week in the South Hams..
