Relaxing and in a quiet area. No a/c but was comfortable sleeping at night. Great breakfast and Henry was more than kind. Thai massage on site at great price. Cool vibe.
The place is very nice, very big and comfortable. nice kitchen and shower. At the lobby you can feel like at home. They arrange a shutlle to a good restaurant at the evening. breakfast very good. The staff and the owner was amazing. It was excellent.
After a little bit of a rough start, but with fast and adequate response from the management, we had a great stay among the magical gardens of Bamboo Guest House. The breakfast was very satisfying. The place can be a bit rough, but its the ambiance that makes it special.
Amazing little hideaway in a beautiful garden. Staff very friendly and helpful. The only things is, absolutely the poorest wifi i have ever experienced anywhere in any guesthouse, you can't connect unless you stand by the reception.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
A very unique place. Staff very friendly. Matrasses a little saggy.
Lovely staff who couldn't do enough for you. The hotel is in need of a refresh: tired room, poor shower (no bath), pool was small and had patches of fibreglass showing. Lots of Mosquitos attracted by the lovely gardens- but no screens on windows or doors and no ac!
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. The garden setting is beautiful. Bedding was excellent. Suggested improvement would be to make breakfast a self service buffet for things like cereal, toast, etc. great stay and highly recommended. Many thanks.
Our room was fantastic! We even had a wood burning fireplace with wood supplied that we used on both nights. Staff was excellent. The muesli I had for breakfast was the best muesli I have ever had. You should make a point of having dinner at the hotel or at least going down there for drinks if you can too. A TREMENDOUS place!
Anybody looking for a non-stressful getaway with their kids is absolutely correct to pick this place. Bamboo is located just after the centre of Knysna in a quieter part of town. It is very close to the main attractions of Knysna and not far from all the other known activities of this part of the Garden Route. When we arrived at Bamboo we were taken to our room which consisted of a large main bed room and a small side room that housed a bunk and a single bed. There is a small fridge in the room and you have tea, coffee (not instant but proper ground coffee with a plunger) in your room. Bamboo works on a B&B basis so you have breakfast in a common area every morning. Service was very good and we did not have to wait long for our food. In the evening the lodge serves dinner's on an add-hock basis. The prices are very reasonable and the meals where excellent. When decided to have dinner at the lodge we ended up playing games (provided by the lodge) in the common area with our kids while having a drink. The fireplaces made it very comfy again and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our kids loved the lodge grounds and could not get enough of playing hide and seek in the Bamboo garden. Additionally there is lots of little art pieces placed around the pathways of the lodge and they enjoyed exploring and finding these. In regards to the staff made us feel very welcome.
The room was roomy and lovely, and a private terrasse provided us with a beautifyl spot for our morning coffee. The layout of the guesthouse is charming and enhanced our feeling of vacation.
The family-feel at the guesthouse is wonderful, and made us feel very welcome. They took care of reserving activities for us without issues.
The only downsides: no wifi apart from the main room, and the pool wasn't really in a usable state for the duration of our stay.
All in all, good value for the money, and we would go again!
