Wonderful place. Extremely friendly service. Stunning location a few minutes out of the city, but right on the main road and easy to find. The house was beautiful. No air-con, but there is a fan in the room.
We are amazed that other reviews give this place 10 out of 10. It is overpriced and the rooms are a joke. Never book the loft room. It is in the apex of the roof and beams slope down either side. On one side you will bang your head getting out of bed. On the other side is a bath with hand held shower. This is in the bedroom, but you cannot stand in the bath because of another sloping beam. Gerhard does his best and is very helpful. He found us another room but it was small and poorly furnished with the cheapest furniture available. The view across the lagoon is good. That is all there is to be said using the word good.
The real selling point of this place is its stunning location right in the middle of the beautiful lagoon! Incredible view from your room and breakfast area! The lodge itself is cozy, if not in need of some slight renovations (the bathrooms could use an upgrade). Though I wouldnt consider it a 4* I think the price we paid was more than fair...it offers all you need for a quick stop along the Garden Route
A fabulous place to stay with amazing views from every window. This place makes a great base from which to explore Knysna and wider Garden Route area. The beds were super comfy and the epic breakfast had something for everyone and set you up for the day. Gerhard, the manager, has a huge amount of knowledge of the area and your stay would be poorer if you didn’t take the time to talk to him. Many thanks for your hospitality.
Highly recommended. Perfect for accessing all that Knysna has to offer and yet sat in tranquil surroundings. Ideal place to take a rest travelling from Cape Town to Addo Elephant National Park.... so much so, we stayed again on the return journey! Wonderful staff!
lovely and friendly welcome. Amazing location. Loved the shower gel/shampoo to. Owner so friendly. Breakfast lovely to. Few km from town so may have to have a taxi if you want a drink.
Our room had excellent views. The owner gave us great recommendations for restaurants and in particular the best times to visit the local attractions (Birds of Eden, Monkey Land). The house and our room is similar to a ski chalet. Breakfast was excellent. Be sure to have your map at hand as there are two places with the same street name and number, fortunately close to each other. Safe location. Would recommend booking the larger room as our double room was quite small.
This hotel is situated an the side of the tidal Knysna lagoon. Its wooden chalet construction and excellent facilities make it unique. It is in easy drive/walk access to a range of excellent restaurants and the superb town waterfront with its wide range of activities, all promoted and explained by the extremely helpful manager.
All of the staff are very welcoming and the host Esther is an amazing person. Very very helpful and fantastic to talk too.

Don't give them your credit card!
Clean nice B&B at the corner of Knysna, not close to city centre.
Surrounded by a lake, quiet... if there's no fellow travellers staying in the lodge.
You'll listen to the soft cracking sound of the stairs when the loft residence walk up, and the couple next door mumble...
What upset me most is that I booked through Hotels.com. But at the hotel reception I was told to pay again. And back home, I found Hotels.com charged, and this lodge charged TWICE on my card. (Yes, I paid 3 times for one booking. ) I'm still wondering what to do...
Pleasant enough buts wouldn't advise to go as a couple, but weird sitting round the same table with lots of strangers making small-talk in the morning - would be ace if you were travelling alone or in a group with friends. The setting isn't great and is quite a way from everything, we didn't expect it to be quite so isolated. The loft room is OK, spacious and cleaner, etc but it's not the best, the rooms downstairs are much nicer. The toilet in the room smells really strange. The breakfast was good and the lady who runs it is lovely and has lots of info, so not all bad.
This is a rustic wooden property in a quiet area a little off the road. A car is required. There is a large common lounge area with a TV, a large deck overlooking the water, and a pool. The walls are thin but fortunately when we were there the other guests were quiet.
Oyster Creek Lodge is definitely one of the sweetest and mellow B&B options in all of Knysna. Excellent location, beautiful lagoon, beautiful lodging, and welcoming hosts. Awesome breakfast!
