The single best staff we’ve ever encountered.
We have been traveling the world for one year straight. We stayed at the CitizenM for nine nights during our recent visit. The staff at the hotel has been, by, the best trained, most hospitable and accommodating, and friendliest staff we’ve ever encountered. Hotel has an excellent location, a great lobby with great work and seating areas, great art and decor (take the art tour inside the property), a full-service bat and an excellent snack and meal menu. Staff went out of the way to make us feel like VIPs. Red carpet was out 24/7. Sad to leave. What an exemplary experience. Kudos to each and every staff member. We miss you all already. Our very highest recommendation. Would only stay here when we return to Kuala Lumpur.

If you’re a solo traveler, citizenM Kuala Lumpur Bukit Bintang is a solid choice. The standout feature of this hotel is its prime location—just a short walk from Jalan Alor Market and the many malls, restaurants, and vibrant nightlife of Bukit Bintang. You’ll definitely appreciate the convenience of being so close to everything. The breakfast is another highlight. The food was not only tasty but also offered a wide selection, which adds great value to the stay. However, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. The rooms are compact, so they may feel cramped if you’re traveling with more than one person. The iPads used to control room amenities—while a modern concept—are outdated and frustratingly slow to use. Additionally, the lobby and hallways are warm and lack proper central air conditioning, which can be uncomfortable after returning from the city’s heat. Overall, this hotel is ideal for solo travelers who prioritize location and don’t mind minimalist spaces. A little tech and cooling upgrade could make the experience even better.

Great hotel, good location
Great location at the bottom of Jalan Alor. There's also a bunch of cute hipster restaurants across the street. The imbi station (of the monorail) is pretty close if you want to hop on the monorail. A quick drive/easy walk to Chinatown. The staff are great. I was having trouble getting my phone to connect with their TV and she spent ages trying to fix it, until we determined that it was the TV's fault, so they moved me. I asked for somewhere to leave my bag (I had a 9pm flight home) and they held my luggage and also let me use a shower in the conference room area so I could freshen up before my flight.

Overall, CitizenM is a standard brand globally, so there are no surprises. The location on this one was decent, right next to the street food market which is a must-go. Also many other places nearby to visit, metro is close by, center is not far. The thing that really was a minus was the cleanliness of the bathroom. We found a used plaster in the shower from the previous person that was just missed, which means it wasn’t really cleaned properly. Floor also looked a bit unclean, we had slippers on all the time. Other than that, up to all the standards citizenM has, not bad not amazing either. Prize was quite good for the dates we stayed, as well. Finally, another negative point was check-in. We arrived 2 hours after. He kin time and first we were told the room was not ready, but we were lucky that one room just got cleaned shortly after.

Property was centrally located and was in an excellent location and walkable to everything. The downside is picture on the website of the room I paid for was probably taken with a widelense camera, not quite accurate. It is extremely compact. The bathroom is extremely small and the sink is in the hall way. When you try to take a shower, it's rather hard to maneuver. I would return to this hotel because of the location but would definitely upgrade to a larger room if available, otherwise, the location does not make up for the compactness of the rooms.
