Disliked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities
I recently checked into the Robertson and was appalled by the condition. The bedding was dirty and the owner admitted to reusing it without cleaning. Despite this, they refused to refund my payment of over £300. Expedia was unhelpful, offering only a £75 refund as a goodwill gesture. They suggested I should have complained before checking in, which is impossible since the check-in is through a drop box and the cleanliness can only be assessed upon arrival.
Expedia also refused to look at the pictures I provided of the property’s cleanliness and showed no sympathy or understanding of the situation. The owner claimed the state of the property was due to the previous guests, but the photos clearly show far more damage than could be attributed to just one stay. Additionally, the air conditioning in the main bedroom has a constant buzzing noise when in use, which would’ve made it difficult to sleep and the lights in both bedrooms, continuously flashed.
I am extremely disappointed with both the property owner and Expedia’s lack of support. I would not book this property, if I could minus stars, I would.
