The pillow has stains, the sheets have stains, the bathroom is dirty, the bathroom walls are dirty, socks on the floor from the person who stayed before, but as you say, you get what you pay for.

Basic hotels, very reasonable price in Kyoto, the room is good size, with small refrigerator. They also provide some breakfast and dinner, not fancy food, but included in the room price, which is quite convenient

Great solo stay
Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room, ideal for 1 person. Bed comfy, very hard pillow but other than that no complaints. 5 minute walk from a subway station and 1 stop to main station so ideal for getting around.
