Amazing. Room on 6th floor huge balcony, loungers and table chairs. Lotions and toiletres daily, even bath salts! So nice. Breakfast was high quality and a little different every day. Welcome drink a plus nightly and the live music in the resturant. So close to Kyoto station. Easy to walk to several temples and shines. Would definitely stay here again!!

Liked: Cleanliness
Being outdoors in the lobby was a little chilly. Room was nice , clean and adequate. Sad that our party of 5 was not allowed to sit or eat together. Big disappointment and no real reason for it. 4 of us are in our 70’s so we are not party people.
Not worth the money. The only good thing is location (very close to Kyoto station). Either go somewhere cheaper or pay more to go to a better hotel.
- Room conditions are not great. It is not cleaned properly and I was starting to have allergic reactions due to the dust. I also dropped a piece of food on the floor and they did not clean it despite 2 consecutive days of room cleaning. The room is also maintained in poor quality. The wallpaper was ripped in some places and there were many stains and scratches on the wall.
- Bedding is poor. You literally get two incredibly weak/flat pillows on your bed and that's it.
- The shower is so tiny. That's why I opted to go to the public bath but you have to go to the building across the street which is super inconvenient. The public bath was also always crowded.
- It is an outdoor (motel like) facility. The check-in counter and lounge are all outside. Technically anyone from the outside can walk up to your room door. If I knew this I would not have booked this place.
Overall I am not satisfied with my stay. I wish I stayed somewhere else!
We love the property. My husband and I had stayed there before. This time we were traveling with our daughter ghetto and sister and brother-in-law. We booked our rooms separately but when we arrived together they told us they didn’t allow groups of more than four people and that we would not be allowed to sit by the fire pit together or eat our breakfast in the dining room together. They were very unwelcoming and made us sign a paper swearing that we would not congregate together in any part of the hotel together and never make a reservation to come again. They basically spoiled our whole stay.
Ideal location for Kyoto station. We had a rooftop room with huge balcony. Room was nice apart from the bathroom - it’s like a plastic box that we saw a lot of ok Japan but it was on a slope so made me feel dizzy! Bedding could have been better but was ok. Breakfast was good and loved the free welcome drink every night. Bar was very cheap and so was restaurant in hotel. Nice seating area outside with fires and blankets. Free public bath with salt sauna. Massage chairs in south building and washing machines. Free tea and coffee You get a lot of bang for your buck at this hotel! Loved the pjs too Would stay again.
Wonderful hotel near the train station. Many nice amenities, including a welcome drink, a common area with coffee and tea available all day. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. We will definitely return to stay at Sakura Gallery hotel!
Loved the free evening drink for all guests - it made for a great atmosphere after a full day of sight seeing! Very comfortable hotel, lovely hot baths and btilliant service.
