The house worked well for our family of 5 (two adults and three teens). The outside space was terrific for reading, lounging, and playing cards at the end of our days out exploring. Ate our meals out, but the coffeemaker was way to use and the fridge was nice to hold our drinks and any take out containers. Location is a perfect jumping off point for all of the adventures La Fortuna has to offer!

Pet friendly and gated so that they do not run onto the street. The stray dogs appeared to be friendly. Located close to any event you might want to do. We went to the Tabacon hot springs and would advise going. Coffee and chocolate tour by Don Juan was also good, especially the store which has a great selection of all kinds of chocolates and coffee. Let it be noted. this unit does not have a hot tub as you may read in amenities. TV in the bedroom was a nice plus, some coffee and 2 beers in the refrig. "You are going to need a cocktail after the drive into La Fortuna." My husband liked the shower; however, ladies bring a shower cap as it's a rain shower head.

Cute house

The property was very quaint and perfect for what we were looking for. It was clean and well maintained too. The host was easy to communicate with and even left us some soda and beer in the fridge upon arrival! Cons are no fault of the owner but the neighbor has a rooster that crows anywhere from 4-6am. Most people seem to own chickens/roosters so that part isn’t unusual and we would likely experience that anywhere else we stayed, but it was a surprise wake up call. She does ask that you keep the A/C off while you’re out of the house. I can understand that probably due to cost, but I’ll say from first hand experience, it’s not fun sweating all day and coming back to a house the same temp as the outside and waiting for the room units to cool the place down a little. She was very polite when she asked us to keep it off while we were out, so we did. It was really close to all the excursions and restaurants and wasn’t hard to learn your way around without GPS. I would stay here again if we ever made it back to the area!

Close to Fortuna

This place was great. I would recommend staying here. Karen was responsive and it was easy to find. There was AC in the rooms and a wonderful shower. It was close by all the nice things in Fortuna and dog friendly. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Felt very safe.

My son and I enjoyed our stay! Property easy to find with private parking. We felt very comfortable and safe.We basically just used the home to sleep and shower. Convenient Location

Worked well for our family of five. Convenient location for the tours we had booked. Close to stores. We utilized the back area of the house quite a bit and really enjoyed the open feel of this area. One negative is that our first night someone kept walking close to where we were playing games; we assume there is some sort of shared walkway but it was a bit unsettling since we were in the enclosed back area of the house and just kept hearing someone walking through the area right outside the house wall (it was dark outside so we couldn’t see anything). There is also a sign on the back door that says something like- for your safety, lock both locks so it was just a bit freaky hearing someone going back and forth, but nothing negative occurred. Besides being a bit unnerved by that situation, there were no other issues. The property fit our needs as a base after our outings. It was clean, spacious enough for 3 adults and 2 teenage boys, had a wonderful shower, and had a nice location for us. Thanks for letting us use your home for a couple days! We would recommend this property.

Comfy and clean!

We loved this little house so much! The owner communicates via text, responds very quickly and is very sweet & friendly. Right when you get there, there’s a fantastic view of the volcano. The beds are comfy and it has everything you would need in the kitchen. The little open air room in the back is adorable and beautiful with all the tropical plants in the yard. I would highly recommend this place to my friends and family.

Great time in La Fortuna

Our family had a great time in La Fortuna! The check in process was straightforward and Karen was very responsive anytime we needed to contact her. We had a little issue with the safe and Karen arrived within the hour to give us the key and resolve the issue. The air conditioning worked well, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was as described. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Great little house

Secluded, quiet location near everything you'd want to visit in La Fortuna. Owner was responsive and easy to work with. There's AC in the 2 bedrooms, which felt amazing because it was hit when we were there. We loved the outdoor kitchen. The only downside with this property was the living room area... Uncomfortable furniture and no AC there. Overall I'd pick this house again though

It's a cute little house a little outside of La Fortuna. House is nice with everything we needed. Washer, dryer, stove, fridge, etc. Has a great view of the volcano. It's not walking distance to anything but we were able to get most tours to pick us up and it's a short drive to town.

Great house in a great location

My wife, 5 year old, and I stayed in this lovely home for two weeks. It is about 5 minutes outside of La Fortuna, which was exactly what we were looking for. We had easy access to all of the great activities in the area without feeling like we were in a tourist town. The views of Arenal volcano from the front yard were amazing! We were able to cook our own meals in the nicely equipped kitchen, which definitely saved us some money. Having a washer/dryer was also a great since we did a lot of outdoor stuff. The WiFi was fast and reliable, which was essential for us as remote workers. Our host, Karen, was incredibly responsive and quick to give us insider tips and suggestions. Check-in and check-out were easy and quick. 10/10 would recommend.
