Historic Southern Utah Cottage- 20 miles to Zion National Park

This historical property has been updated from the inside out. Built in 1904 by the Wilson family, one of the very first families to settle LaVerkin. It is one of the oldest Pioneer homes in all of Southern Utah.

This one bedroom, one bath structure is a combination of adobe brick and stick frame construction. The outside of the building has been left primarily untouched to maintain its historical integrity but has been updated inside to accommodate the modern traveler.

*Please note our weather is similar Las Vegas Nevada, not Northern Utah. We have such amazing weather to come and experience the great Zion National Park!! (July and August ARE hot- But Zion has water hikes!)
*We are open year round

Cute little cabin
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely historic cabin. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed, including being able to cook meals, and do a load of laundry. The bed was very comfortable as well. We appreciated the responsiveness of the owners with any questions we had. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much! Sue and Pat ~ from Maine

Communication What’s That?
There was no communication about access to the property unit 3:30 in the afternoon the next day! No back up plan, VRBO was of absolutely no help and the customer service with VRBO was terrible. The Host voicemail went right to VM and there was no monitoring of that. Then the host assumed that I was going to stay there the next night when there had been no communication and no access for the first night of the stay. I saw all the good reviews. Maybe this is a one off. But make sure you understand how you get access into the room before you go because there is no consideration. VRBO was of no use and I had to dispute the charges with my Credit Card Company. Because they also take no responsibility.

Fun find
It is an adorable little cabin and we really enjoyed our time there. There’s a cute little book on the history of the cabin and provide nuts from their trees. It’s perfect for a couple get away and close to Zion.

The property is beautiful. The historic cabin has been beautifully preserved and furnished. A lovely hard cover book detailing all the important things to know about the area along with a history of the family is very informative. The hosts are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

Wonderful stay!
We had an excellent trip staying at this small cabin for my husband and I. We hiked at a bunch of National Parks (Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Red Rocks) and all were 2.5 hours or less away, this cabin was in an excellent location. The cabin itself was clean and well thought out. We would absolutely stay again!

Perfect for Anniversary Celebration Trip!
This cabin is adorable! The details in the restoration and the decor made it feel so cozy and like home! The bed was fabulously comfortable. Just a short drive to Zion, it was the perfect location for our adventures as well as for enjoying some local flavor upon our return each night. Loved the access to a W/D, too! Highly recommend for a couples getaway!

Adorable, Conveniently-Located Cabin, but HOT in the Summer
Overall, this cabin was great for our trip to Zion, as it's only 20-25 minutes from the entrance. It's decorated very cute, equipped with basic kitchen amenities, and was the perfect size for the two of us. We did have a few issues: It was as hot as 115 degrees while we were there and the house only has a small window unit in the living room and it wasn't on when we first arrived. The bedroom was too hot for my husband to sleep comfortably, so he slept on the pull-in twin couch next to the AC each night. We did find a small fan for the bedroom and that helped slightly. Since we spent most of our time exploring the park, this wasn't a deal-breaker, but I feel like it needs to be called out for summer vacationers. A few smaller things - there were no trash bags, so we had to use the plastic bags from our store trip for all of our trash. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 nights, so we ran out by the time we left. I was drying my hair in the living room the morning we left (the bathroom was too hot) and it blew a fuse, thus we lost power in the entire living room including the AC unit. I messaged the host right away and she texted me back about 3 hours later. Since we were checking out, it wasn't a big deal, but it would've been an issue to lose power/AC for that long if we had another night there. Ultimately, we had a fabulous time and these issues didn't affect our enjoyment of the trip and the AMAZING location, but I wanted to leave an honest review.

Cozy Cottage
The perfect little place for our 4-night stay! Small, cozy and so cutely decorated. It is conveniently located close to Zion National Park but yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle. The view of the mountain never gets old! Will definitely stay again when we make it back to Utah.

Fantastic location to visit Zion
We chose this location because it was convenient to get to Zion, but had no idea how wonderful it would be. We found ourselves very eager to get back each evening. Our 13-year-old daughter absolutely loved it as well. It is a beautiful place and very cozy. The owners are absolutely amazing. They Made us feel like we were truly at home! We even got fresh eggs from their chickens and pecans from their pecan trees. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this as the perfect place to stay!

LaVerkin Historic Cabin
Very clean, centrally located cabin for visiting National Parks and many other amazing sites. We found great Pickleball courts at Sullivan Virgin River Park in Washington City, when we needed a break from hiking. Rented amazing e-bikes from Red Rock Bicycle in Hurricane and rode the JEM trails. Loved River Rock Roasting Co. down the road with great coffee, beer, pizza and views. The cabin was cozy, but listing is somewhat misleading regarding privacy. Main house is right next door, did not realize it was so close. View out cabin's kitchen window is right into main house kitchen and bedroom. We kept our kitchen window blind closed. Sigh. There is no hot tub but listing states there is one. The cabin's gravel driveway is the main house's driveway. When we needed the shared laundry, it was full of hosts' laundry. The view from porch is of open field with few homes that interfere with totally natural scene. All in all a nice stay, but if looking for quiet, secluded cabin with privacy, probably not the best choice.

Great little historic cabin
Fantastic stay about a 1/2 hour drive outside of Zion National Park. Neat little cabin with an extensive recorded history and enough amenities for us to cook our own meals and make the most of our trips to Zion and the surrounding areas. Not a cookie cutter prefab like a lot of the places available for rent in the area. Very personal and welcoming. Liz and family did a great job and made us feel welcome as soon as we pulled in the driveway. Love the cliff views in the background and the snow covered mountain views in the foreground. Thanks for making your historic little home available to us.
