We are open! Now is your time to visit Maui!!! No Ka Oi!
*No parking fees, and no resort fees!*
Imagine walking into your accommodations on your dream vacation on Maui and all you see is ocean as you step through the front door. Your jaw hangs open as you drop your bags on the tile/new hardwood floor and you head directly for the private lanai through our brand new silky smooth sliding glass doors ... 'Is this real?' you ask yourself. Oh yes... the pictures on VRBO didn't even do the place justice...it's real. You yell to your significant other, 'honey, grab us some wine!' It sure is a good thing that you stopped at the Times Market across the street on your way in for some groceries. You don't plan on leaving this place for a while. At least not until you've seen the sunset from the new balcony height chairs that you've just settled into. This is what Maui is all about. You have officially found paradise. This is why we take one last longing look back when we walk out the door as we leave each and every time. Our guests tell us the same thing. You will get a kick out of watching the sunset cruises sail directly by the front of the condo and stop to watch the perfect sunsets each evening. You get that at no extra cost :-). You'll find yourselves timing your days so you can get back to home base by sunset - trust me. There's no better place to watch it or to watch whales. Listen for the sounds of blowing conch shells when the sun disappears beneath the horizon. Give your conch trumpeting skills a try yourself! How magical can it get?
Hey, you haven't even noticed all the upgrades we did on the place, but you'll see them in a bit. You just fell in love with our place for the same reasons why we did. If it's whale season, grab the binoculars on your way out to the lanai while you get comfortable to get an extra close look. You are in for a show!
Another reason why you'll never want to leave? The constant sounds of the waves rolling in and crashing. You may wonder if you want a one bedroom or a studio unit for your trip. Trust me, you want a studio (one bedrooms have the bedroom near the entrance of the unit, the furthest point from the ocean). A studio unit is the only way to hear the waves crashing from your bed to lull you to sleep. Ahh... Heaven. I simply can't describe it in words. Maui Kai is the closest building to the water on all of Maui. You'll seriously think you are on a cruise ship. I've heard this comment made dozens of times. Simply unbelievable. We're on the 6th floor and the lanai is 100% private and secure. Lower floors aren't very private (people walk by and can see in your unit). The higher floors have the best views by far. People couldn't see into the unit or lanai if they tried, and nobody can possibly get inside. You're able to keep the sliding doors open all evening long and hear the waves crashing. You can hear the ocean even when you close the doors (you will need to do this to hear the TV- the waves are that close!) and you have the air conditioning on (central air on Maui? YES and very rare!). Do you need air conditioning on Maui... that's up to you, but it's there if you need it. We use it every single time we stay at the condo. It can get warm on Maui. We've stayed in condos with window AC units in the living rooms and fans in the bedrooms...we were miserable. We just couldn't buy one of those condos knowing that we couldn't sleep at night while sweating (do consider it when finding a place to stay). Maui Kai is also quiet. The sound of the ocean helps with this quite a bit, but we also aren't near any roads and the parking lot is away from the building. We've stayed at several condos in the Ka'anapali area and were kept up all night long. Read reviews for any place that you are considering...see if people complain about barking dogs, roosters (yes!), slamming car doors, etc. If you don't have air conditioning, you have to keep windows open. With time changes coming in from wherever you are traveling from, and others coming in at all hours of the night, you need to be able to sleep at some point :-). Being on the 6th floor isolates you from the noise of passersby on the beach and since our building is concrete you won't hear people walking above you. That surprised me since we are from the mainland and are used to wooden buildings.
We purchased our piece of paradise in February 2014 and have been completely remodeling, renovating and redecorating it since in very high end decor and materials. We kept with a beachy/Hawaiian (yet modern) theme in blue, white and silver. Updated with hardwood floors and our extremely comfortable pillow top king sized bed to rest your heads!. You will stay in your very own junior suite with an updated full kitchen (everything is full size - many condos, even in our building aren't this way) with quartz countertops and glass backsplash, and you will have a full bathroom. The condo comfortably sleeps two (or you may add a child by renting our comfy twin size air mattress for $15/night).
Maui Kai #603 is located north of downtown Lahaina, directly on the ocean on the West side of the island. The views are unbelievable, the beaches to die for and the snorkeling is out of this world. Our favorite snorkel areas are super close: just out front of the condo, Honolua Bay, Black Rock, and Napili Bay to name a few.
The drive down to Kihei and the southern beaches is also short and it's worth visiting those areas, but you'll want to return back to Ka'anapali and the cooler weather with the lush green, tropical feel at the end of your day.
There are so many things to do close by! Beaches...so many beaches! Each one is unique and more beautiful than the last. Activities such as surfing, snorkeling, diving, parasailing, boat trips, ziplining and horseback riding abound!
Food truck row is a short walk right around the corner to satisfy your local food cravings! You can also walk to the grocery store, shave ice, coffee shop, fish tacos, water sports rental, and the best farmer's market. You don't need a car, but we'd recommend one if you want to get out and really see Maui (Haleakala, road to Hana). I have a great guest book of recommendations in the condo for you and I also send all renters a list of suggested activities. It has received rave reviews!
The best place for whale watching on the island? Our condo! We provide top of the line binoculars (not needed to see the whales, but these get you in for a closer look), a completely private covered lanai, and nature provides amazing whale watching! You will see dozens if you visit in season. No matter what time of year you visit, you'll see our resident sea turtles, fish and rays on the reef directly below the lanai. Nothing beats relaxing after a day of adventure and watching the surfers end their day along with the sunset. Guaranteed perfection. Every. Single. Time.
Much Aloha!
