An extremely disappointing experience
We were booked for a 1 night stay at Motel Montreal, and upon arrival we were met with a swift change in our itinerary (with no compensation or discussion of rates). The desk informed us that our room had a maintenance issue, and that we were being swapped to another motel. Once we arrived at the second motel, we were appalled at what our costly booking provided us with. Cobwebs and dead insects littered the windowsill, the toilet and shower looked unclean and virtually unusable, and the electricity was inoperable. Even a simple flick of the light switch did nothing. My partner and I were weary from travels and being so late in the evening, could not muster the effort to track down an employee or call in emergency maintenance. We begrudgingly elected to pack up our bags and drive all the way home in lieu of subjecting ourselves to the evening in this horrific room. I am personally disappointed for allowing myself to even be exposed to this type of experience, and will be making a deeply conscious effort to avoid this booking process in the future.
