Manyara Glamping Safari is a serene glamping experience after the long day of a game drive. Driving through a vegetable garden by the entrance up to a friendly reception, the owners aim to have the property to be as self-sufficient as possible.
Check in was easy with the Expedia booking, and we were given a short briefing before the porters helped us bring our bags to the room. Staff were friendly and polite, from the reception to the kitchen staff to the porters.
Each room was made out of tent material, ours had a living room and three bedrooms. There was a small kitchen and sink in the living room, as well as shelves for storage. The windows were covered with netting, and a secondary canvas cover, and it could get a bit stuffy depending on the weather. There was no fan. Plugs were European plugs instead of local plugs, so make sure to bring an adapter.
Each bedroom was compact, enough to fit the beds and a cupboard. Beds were comfortable with firm mattresses and soft pillows, each one with mosquito netting.
WiFi was only available at the bar.
Dinner was buffet style, delicious halal meat and vegetables (apparently grown from the garden), and an amazing pineapple cake dessert (I would have gone for seconds if it wasn't limited). There was hot breakfast as well as cereal. As with many African accommodation, full board does not include drinks, and water or juice at the restaurant is charged for.
Great view of the sunrise from the trees, and you can hear the call to praye
