Switched rooms three times. First the key didn’t work due to error by staff. So instead of activating the key for the room they told us we were in they made us move across the property to the one we were “supposed” to be in. I was offered a beer for my troubles. Then the second room had no running water and we were moved back across the property to another room with barely an apology. Worst check in ever… rooms aren’t to bad though and the hot tub was nice.

Great location to stay, with unique charm and had a more Rustic campy vibe. Enjoyed our stay here and enjoyed the coffee shop each morning. Our first room had some small issues, so staff were helpful and let us move into a more suitable room during our stay. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here for this laid back location.

My daughter, 3 year old granddaughter and I went for a quick mini vacation. The location was great! Super easy and convenient to walk to the beach and to all the shops. We loved that our room was above the parking garage as we did not have to worry about any below us being bothered by my granddaughter running around. The staff was super nice and welcoming. My negatives are that there is no upper latch/lock on the door so my granddaughter kept opening and running down the hall. I could not sleep as I was worried about her getting out. Floor is squeaky but definitely not bad enough that we would not stay there again. Shower is a bit small but again, that did not bother us since we were loving staying there. Before we left we looked at the hotel online and it did not mention a hot tub, we even looked a few times. We did not bring swimsuits and sure enough there was a hot tub. This definitely needs to be added to the description on Expedia. Keep in mind that everything is more expensive in Tahoe, especially food, but if you drive down the road for a couple of hours, you can more reasonably priced food. We really enjoyed the great service and food we got at iHOP. In conclusion, I definitely recommend this hotel and we will definitely be staying there again.

Had a wonderful stay at this motel redone as a hotel and even tho the floorboards creaked and we felt the building shake sometimes, a testament to how old the building is, all the pros outweighed those cons. They had a great brewery attached to the hotel with great food and a great outdoor area with games and a fire pit for smores. We walked everywhere and across the street were all the casinos and on the California side was all the shops and restaurants. We never used the spas due to the cold but maybe next time!

We had an overwhelming amount of ants in our room and our heater made this insane loud noise about every 30 minutes that woke us up from our sleep. We decided to just turn it off and freeze instead of having broken sleep. We told front desk - they offered us free coffee. In which the staff at the coffee bar was extremely rude. Disappointing for sure!

Love this place!
Basecamp was amazing. Nice rooms and great amenities. Loved the outdoor area with fire pits and a brewery and pizza joint. Very eco friendly with a great healthy breakfast in the office. Walking distance to the best that South Tahoe has to offer.

Comfy, cute and efficient
I stayed at Basecamp on a solo trip for a couple days. They are very efficient with checking in and checking out process. The room was clean, comfortable and very cute. There’s a coffee shop and brewery on the grounds that has live music. Cute seating area outside with a couple fire pits. They are also pet friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again.
