Our guests have described our Condo as "...the complete Zen atmosphere" as you enter into uncluttered space with everything you'll need for your stay. Open the oversized patio doors in the living room out to the balcony so every room hears the cascade of water down Toxaway Falls. Sit outside on the balcony overlooking the waterfall and scenic overlook of the Toxaway River while enjoying your favorite cocktail, cold beer or glass of wine. There are 16 steps down from the parking area to our entrance on the lower landing.
Gorges State park with a number of trails and waterfalls surrounds our condo and village with the park office located just 3 miles and minutes away. Harrah's Cherokee Casino and Resort is 55 miles away. You'll find plenty of shopping, hiking, sightseeing and mountain air, with loads of space for six guests and everything you need already here. Linens and towels provided along with all kitchen necessities, including a coffee station with both Kuerig and a Cuisinart grinder/coffee maker for that just right morning coffee or tea, and a brand new stove with convection and air-fry functionality -- just bring your preferred food and drinks.
Wood flooring throughout the common areas while each bedroom is carpeted and tile in each bathroom. All new mattresses/box springs/pillows in every bedroom. Brand new Tankless Water Heater for added time in the shower. We have a Community pool which is heated between May and September to approximately 80 degrees.
Transylvania County is well known for access to 250 different waterfalls and numerous groomed walking and biking trails. We're located approximately 2 miles from the Eastern Continental Divide (elevation 2694 ft) with numerous hiking trails within a short drive away. Known as the “Land of Waterfalls,” the Brevard area is home to numerous waterfalls, Pisgah National Forest (where the US Forestry Service was created) and the endless beauty of North Carolina's Great Smoky Mountains. Some of the area's waterfalls have starred in blockbusters like The Hunger Games and The Last of the Mohicans. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also not far from this central location. Great restaurants along with antique shops, artist galleries and unique local shops are located in nearby Brevard, Cashiers and Highlands, while famous wineries, restaurants and the Biltmore Estate are just one hour away in Asheville. There are multiple golf courses just a short drive away; like Sapphire National Golf Club 8.3 miles away and it's partner Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company's onsite restaurant and bar looking out over the 8th and 18th holes.
Los Vaqueros restaurant is a just a short walk back up the entryway drive with great Mexican food and margaritas; and you must stop and see the Maple Rose giftshop next door while your here for some local flair and fresh cut flowers {open in season}
A local legend has it that the name Toxaway may have come from the Cherokee Indian tribes who populated and hunted in this area for many generations with the English translation being "Ta Ha Wey", meaning 'land of the red bird' - - and hence our name here now.
