Secluded log cabin w/ hot tub and wood burning fireplace near West Jefferson

A true log cabin with long range views of the Appalachian Mountains. Tucked in the middle of the woods, high above Helton Creek, this cabin is extremely private and secluded from it all.

This two story cabin has three separate bedrooms, fully stocked with bedding, blankets and all you will need for a restful retreat. The cozy living room is centered around a wood burning fireplace and adjoins a fully stocked kitchen with everything needed to cook. Windows from the living room allow for mountain views from both spaces.

Spend time taking in the views from the front porch rocking chairs or soak in the relaxation from a hot tub under the stars.

Your perfect getaway for hiking, fishing, 4 wheeling and more. You will feel a thousand miles away from it all but are only a short distance from Lansing, and Downtown West Jefferson.

Check out shopping and dining in both downtown West Jefferson and Lansing.

Fly fish in the regularly stocked Helton Creek, well-known for its delayed harvest. Hike the famous Appalachian Trail and take your picture the wild ponies at Grayson Highland State Park.

Absolute Heaven
Our best friends from California flew in for a weekend in the NC mountains and this cabin did not disappoint. We spent our days lounging in our pajamas and sitting fireside. Wonderful Getaway
We celebrated our 42nd wedding anniversary here at the Helton cabin. Secluded, comfortable and cozy. The cabin was very clean with comfortable linens with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We used the wood burner and appreciated the wood supply and the outdoor fire ring! The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal and the view from the front porch is beautiful! Location is near state parks and the Blue Ridge Parkway and close drive to shops and restaurants. Amy was very responsive to our questions and check in/out couldn't be easier. We will recommend the Helton cabins to our friends and family!

Beautiful cabin with beautiful views
Me and the wife have been taking yearly trips to the areas surrounding Grayson highlands. We have definitely found the best place to stay in the area. The cabin is beautiful and in a very quiet area. The views from the porch and the hot tub are breathe taking. The cabin has everything you could need including great highspeed internet in a area of little to no cell signal. Definitely will be coming back.

Cool and tranquil stay in comfy cabin
We really needed to cool down and escape the mosquitos of the summer Piedmont and the cabin was the absolutely perfect antidote. Extremely comfortable, well equipped for cooking in, all you need in a tidy package of land perched high on the hillside with distant views across the misty valley in the morning and a glimpse of the sunset through the trees in the summer evening. The porch was our favorite spot for lolling and reading and planning our days hikes and adventures. Mt. Rogers a short drive away and amazing views from Pond mountain gamelands where at 5,000 ft you get 360 degree views across mountains in NC Tennessee and Virginia. Feasted on cheese from West Jefferson, pizza from Pie on the Mountain in Lansing, and took in the delights of art and outdoor stores in the area. Can imagine that this would also be the perfect spot for a snowy getaway too with cosy fireside evenings. The dogs also loved the stay!

Wonderful secluded cabin
It's very private, with an adorable interior, a really functional kitchen, and a great hot tub. It's close to both Lansing, and if you need more items, it's close to West Jefferson. Would highly recommend this stay!

Peaceful and Relaxing
The cabin was absolutely immaculate and had an amazing view from the porch. The absolute perfect place for morning coffee. The nearby town of West Jefferson is very cute and has a lot of great antique shops to explore and small places for a bite or some coffee. I also took advantage of a sxs rental in town and explored all through the hills and river. Amazing place and I would love to come back!

Unbelievable View
My daughter and I stayed for three nights while we hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail. Typically we leave early in the morning to start but it was so beautiful we took our time to just take it all in from the front porch. So wonderful! The location was further than others for what we wanted to do but it was well worth it. Didn't want to leave. House was great

Introvert Paradise
Our family loves to just hang out together away from crowds, and this cabin was perfect! It had everything we needed, and the view was amazing. My daughters stayed in the hot tub all afternoon while my husband and I sat next to the fire ring and looked out at the mountains. The drive up from Abington was a bit of a doozy, but once we made it in, all was well. Would not want to get stuck in the snow without provisions or drive that in the dark. BUT once you're there - no light pollution so the stars were amazing. Grocery store was about 15-20 minutes away. Enjoyed the fireplace and the little gaming table. Enough pots/pans to cook what we needed. Our main goals were to relax and see the ponies at Grayson Highlands, and we did both! My daughters asked if it could be "their" cabin now. Thanks!

I went for the weekend by myself as a "reset" and personal relaxation time. The cabin is amazing. Extremely clean, views are incredible, and its very remote. You really feel like you are out there. Fireplace was awesome
