I had stayed at another Ibis Hotel (Porto Gaia, Portugal) earlier this year and I had an excellent experience. Unfortunately, Ibis Oviedo was NOT the same.
This was a 4-night stay (original reservation got split into 3 nights, then 1 night) while I worked on a project in the area.
My overall experience was terrible... ending with a room change because ants infested my room.
And while I am never quick to write "poor" reviews, I have to honestly say that this was one of the worst experiences of my many years staying in hotels.
The staff overall is simply not customer friendly.
Their attitude in conversation is condescending and rude, making it a very unprofessional experience. There was one service staff woman at the front desk area on Friday morning who was kind and helpful. Another younger woman (Itziar) was simply mean and rude when asked for help about a difficult situation.
My first day when I checked in a bathroom light was not working. I reported it, and was told the next day that it could not be fixed. I was ok with that since there was still one working light and I didn't have the time to do a room change.
Then one morning I woke up and my room was infested with ants. It ruined food I had bought and got into my clothes and other things. Obviously I reported it, showing the service lady my photos and 2 videos.
After a room change, I completely lost my WiFi service too. Reported it, but it was not fixed either. Location is also very poor.
