Large rooms, great staff, grounds are great, good food, pool is small, but fun for the kids, you're right on a gorgeous beach that is excellent for body surfing. Oasis for sure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Las Lajas. If you are looking for relaxation, sun, sand, awesome food and amazing staff, this is the place. The resort is clean, food portions were more than I could eat most days and prices were good. My husband is vegetarian and he had lots of options. We enjoyed our ocean front suite, Rooms had AC, fans and a water cooler. Thank you to Aida, Doris and all the staff for welcoming us and making our stay great. We will be back.
Great hidden gem. Staff was amazing and were welcoming. The room was great for five people and extra clean with very delicious food. The pool and area was extra clean and the grass and outdoor area with outdoor shower made the stay even better.

The only complaint that I have is that they need to figure out how to get the food out of the kitchen faster. It takes forever for your food to be prepared.
Food at restaurant was really good and reasonable. Staff super most spoke good English for us lazy traveler's.
Great beach overall nice and relaxing.

Liked: Room comfort
Only ok for us but location is the key
It was the equivalent of staying at a roadside hotel/motel BUT with a pristine location. Nothing special stood out about the rooms. We rented the ocean front junior suite. There was no air conditioning in the bedroom- only a small unit in the living room so we had to place a fan in the doorway to cool off. The restaurant was ok. We ordered a burger well done and received a very pink center. The same bitten pattie was returned to us- only without the pink center. It happened in multiple cities in the country of Panama so maybe this is the norm. We just aren't used to that type of thing. The room our girls were in had a large gap between the actual building and the frame of the door so light could be seen from outside (or inside if it was dark). The location made it special. Waking up at 6 am to catch a sunrise will make you speechless.
After a hiatus of two years due to the pandemic, we were pleased to see many of the former staff, the upgraded rooms, and especially, a more imaginative menu.
The Hotel is right on the beach! Exit room, walk across the lush grass barefoot, you are on the sand. Miles and miles of wide, flat smooth beach in both directions. I enjoyed a four+ mile run at sunrise, and no end of the beach in sight! The biggest beach I have ever been on. My wife loved beach combing and found several nice shells. The room had a mini-split air conditioner that took a few hours to cool the room, but eventually it did catch up to it's task and we slept well. The restaurant is great. Very tasty food, cold beer, excellent service and wonderful outdoor setting. There is a pool that looked nice, that we did not use because the ocean is what drew us away from the Colorado winter. (The ocean was very warm waves where a blast on the boogie board they rented us for $6.) We wished we had discovered this gem of a hotel earlier in our three week trip so we could stay longer. When we return to Panama at a date yet to be determined, we will be back!
We enjoyed our stay! The staff was pleasant and the entire hotel and grounds were spotless. The on-site restaurant and bar was very good as well. The only negatives I would have is that the sheets pillows and towels could use an upgrade.
The property is beautiful & well kept. We arrived at around 2pm & our room was not ready so we were asked to wait in one of the beachside bungalows. The room was spacious & the beds & pillows were comfortable. A light scent of natural gas lingered in the air after taking a hot shower.
Though the garden was lush and groomed, we were mortified at the fact that the garden sprinklers were on from 7am to 7pm, non-stop. What felt like lack of water conservation practices left us with a poor impression of the hotel’s respect for this precious resource.
Our experience with the restaurant & kitchen staff was not positive: each time we dined we had to repeatedly ask for water to be brought to our table. From behind the bar the staff gestured the international "what can I do for you" head shuffle, without approaching our table. They behaved with greater interest in maintaining their ongoing conversations than in the business of serving us. Our food was served either too hot or very cold. For our first dinner, we didn’t realize that we clashed with the staff break time until we noticed our server dining on the table next to ours, having a loud phone conversation about her issues dealing with her pigs & farm animals. We're sad to say that the staff was not warm to us. They seemed to be gossiping & mocking us, & that was disheartening. We are happy go lucky seasoned travelers, a mother & a mother and daughter team & this is not a place where we would return to. We considered leaving...
The staff is very, very friendly. They appreciate the client and go the extra mile to make your stay pleasant and warm.
The room was clean and a nice size.
Overall an excellent place to relax and get some sunshine.
