I'm very disappointed that, during an event (The Baker to Vegas Run) where the Rio Hotel was the host facility, they only had one bar open for longer hours! In my opinion, the Masquerade Bar should've been open longer, given the number of people staying at the hotel during the event. In addition, the Food Court should've also remained open for extended hours. The gaming tables closed "early" and there was only one elevator working for the Masquerade Towers. The hotel knew this event was taking place and dropped the ball, in my opinion! Bring in more staff for the weekend! This was just unacceptable! And while the games people and the staff at SmashBurger & Lucky Tavern were nice, I found all the bartenders to have poor attitudes and work ethic. Bring in your best folks for an event of this size and magnitude! As for my room, I was aware that a remodel is forthcoming. However, I was in the "old" Masquerade Tower. My Suite on the 39th floor was janky AF! For what it cost, it was without a doubt the worst room I've ever stayed! My room--if not the entire tower--should be off-limits until they finish the upgrade! Or at least start switching out furniture/fixtures on an as needed basis! I cut my foot on the floor; the sofa was probably from the 80s/90s; the carpet is old; ALL of the water fixtures leaked; the freezer was iced-over; the two tvs were 40-inches (if that). The prices were inflated for the weekend....but it was not commensurate with my stay. :(

The renovated king duties were absolutely astounding. The design and layout as well as the furniture make for an amazing and private experience. The available restaurants in the Hotel itself are very delicious and close options for any type of pallette.

Long line at check in so we tried the self check in kiosks. After numerous unsuccessful tries on the kiosk, ended up in line for over 30 minutes to check in with a real person. Only 4 staff seemed to be working. Once we made it to a live person, check in was fairly painless. Resort fees are ridiculous.

So many things that were 'unexpected' from what used to be a decent moderately priced hotel slightly off the strip. This property is tired, dirty, shows no lack of style or real care of their patrons. From the elevators, the disconnect with the casino, no housekeeping without prior notice(?!). The list could go on and on- Water back ups in both the shower and the sink in the outdated rooms. Shops are a ghost town- just simply horrible. Will NEVER stay there again.

The room(s) are in need of remodeling :major updating as well as a good cleaning, carpet old and dirty bathroom shower had mold. I would only recommend the Luckley Tavern & Grill food and service was awesome.

Hotel showing its age. Otherwise comfortable

Bathroom had a big giant hole in the ceiling drywall. Bathroom ceiling had a "falling apart" look and feel to it. Very difficult.to get a hold of room service on the phone to get extra towels. Hotel is definitely showing its age. Stay was otherwise comfortable. Room was spacious and clean.
