Great location but apartment itself was disappointing.
Overall, this is only an adequate place to stay. The location is very convenient for catching bus, 10 min. walk to town & train station. Our stay started out badly as we were not given exact walking directions to the apartment, had to rely on Google Maps which told us to walk 200 meters in the wrong direction from the bus stop in the rain with our luggage. It turned out to be directly across from the bus stop behind another building. More precise directions should be provided. The apartment is very clean. The decor is hodge podge from the 1960's; ceilings are low as it is a rustic chalet; kitchen pots & pans and utensils though adequate are sorely in need of replacement. Compared to 2 other properties that we stayed in this month in Europe, it was disappointing. There is no comfortable seating for reading and relaxing. The sofa is actually a twin-size bed with a bolster pillow, not comfortable for sitting. The only place to sit was at the dining room table in the evenings. The photos are a bit deceiving as the wood interior creates a dark environment. We left 2 days early from our 7 night stay because of the rain and the apartment just wasn't a place we wanted to sit around in hoping for the weather to improve. The Berner Oberland is all about the scenery and the views - if you can't be out enjoying that, we'd rather be somewhere else. This was the most expensive place we stayed in our month in Europe and it definitely was not worth the price.
