Thie-Ma-Chree is a delightful single storey self catering holiday cottage with a lovely elevated view out to sea over Laxey bay, Isle of Man. Situated right next to the 125 year old Manx Electric Railway, the tram stops just outside at the magically named Fairy Cottage halt. Jump on this and enjoy a scenic journey to Douglas or Ramsey, or even up to the Isle of Man's highest point - Snaefell mountain!

The cottage is accessed by a single step into the conservatory and two steps into the main living area. The kitchen and bathroom are off the living area. The bathroom has a corner bath with hand held shower facilities.

With a rustic homely interior the holiday cottage offers a perfect base for a single traveller or a couple providing one comfortable double room. Well behaved pets are allowed (not in the bedroom).

With excellent tram and bus links from immediately outside, this Isle of Man holiday cottage is ideal for travellers without their own transport. But if you have a car a private driveway can be found to the side of the cottage.

Sorry but this property dose not match modern day standards.
This property is routed in the 1950's, unfortunately for the owner things have moved on since then. The property needs modernising to bring it up to modern-day standards. In the short term items which could be addressed are - 1) The wifi is none existant which is a shame as it would have been useful for planning days out. 2) The TV seems to have half the Freeview channels missing. 3) A shower would be much more preferable for a holiday cottage. 4) A large door mat in the conservatory would be useful. 5) I suspect the electrical system in the property needs updating. 6) There is obviously a damp problem in the bathroom. Both the bathroom and kitchen should have extractor fans fitted. 7) It would have been nice to be able to see out of the kitchen window which obviously needs replacing. 8) It was impossible to open the top oven as the wall prevented it from opening. 9) The hard standing at the side of the property was a very tight fit- especially for my Range Rover. Also it was a very dangerous manover getting back onto the main road. 10) The property needs a deep clean, there were marks on the bedroom ceiling, some of the electrical socket had not been cleaned. The sofa had wear marks on it. 11) I noticed that some of these points had been raised by previous renters on the feedback forms left I a draw. Perhaps now would be a good time for the owner to act on them.

was impressed with location and transport amenities,pleasant sea veiws.house felt a little t.l.c. would not go a miss. put in 2 air freshners as home felt it had been closed up.rustic interior.overall enjoyed our stay.

Quaint cottage lovely ambiance...Home from home
We stayed for three days and even family and friends thought the cottage belong to one of the guests. Fully equipped with everything one could need and the lovely welcome pack was really sweet.... will definitely be returning in the summer
