We would highly recommend this beautiful 18th Century house nestled in a quiet quaint street, situated in the Dordogne. It's surrounded by picturesque views of the Dordogne river with a wooded backdrop at the rear, viewed from a beautiful courtyard under the canopy of a fig tree (we think) & grape vine. This Five generation owned house tells it's history in pictures throughout the house and in written French, which we thought was a lovely addition. The inside of the house is nicely decorated with a mix of old and modern. We had access to the garage (enough room for two cars) which was ideal in hot weather and so nice to get into a cool car.
The hosts Sebastian, Seline & their daughter were very friendly & welcoming, they spoke a little English & we spoke a little french, enough to understand each other & share a laugh.
Sebastian & Seline were very accommodating and provided us with all the essentials & more that we would need on our holiday & we topped up the things we used eg washing liquids & loo roll etc.
We enjoyed exploring this part of France with our family & for our youngest to finally meet his great grandparents who live in Pessac.
Some Must do's we recommend: Wild swimming, kayaking & paddle boarding in the Dordogne river & Lac de Gurson, visiting the historical town of Bergerac & Set Sail at 'Port miniature de Bergerac', enjoy the hustle & bustle of the French market at St foy on Saturday morning til 2pm & the beautiful garden Les Jardins de Sardy with a historic tour from the owner, a very pleasant gentleman.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & hope to visit again next year.
Thank you very much,
Warm Wishes
Haidee & Kev and family
