My family was looking forward to staying at Abendblume for a night. However, since we showed up with more guests than planned, we were told that we could not stay the night. The owner did offer to refund the room, but charged us anyways when we left. If we had been told that we would be charged regardless, we would have had 2 people stay at the hotel as written on the reservation. However, her shameless lie made us feel comfortable leaving the hotel knowing that we would not be charged for the cancelled booking. It surprised me when we were charged for a stay she clearly cancelled, however, as I did not record our conversation, there is no proof needed to secure a refund through our bank. We've tried to communicate with the manager several times, but have not succeeded in obtaining our refund. I am quite disappointed that a person would blatantly lie to their customer and that she would feel justified to charge someone a few hundred dollars without providing any service. For those who still want to stay at this hotel, we recommend recording all conversations and receiving written proof of all transactions before leaving the property so that others will not be mistreated the same way we were.
