Nice enough property, with friendly staff. Room was clean but basic, soap dispenser fell off the wall. Food in the restaurant/ bar was good. Public toilet for men was neglected. Plaster falling off the walls, poorly maintained.

Even though the room was paid for upfront the hotel had overbooked and there was no rooms available on check in. Was sent to another HI hotel to the south of this location which was useless as the hotel had been originally chosen as a stop off on a long distance northbound journey. Avoid Holiday Inn wherever possible

Staff very welcoming Yet again no lift for disabled people so had to go round a dark carpark to get to my room.plug not working in the bathroom ,smell of damp down the corridors and a bucket catching water as a bad leak. Breakfast good a little egg over cooked but staff very helpful

Overall, great value
Only there briefly, but service was good. Room was clean and tidy, although some of the furniture and the doors are from yesteryear. My bed was great, don’t remember seeing a kettle in the room, corridors clean but smelt like cleaning materials as well. Overall, great value and I would come back!

Room very comfortable however restaurant inconsist
We were upgraded on arrival and we were staying for 3 nights so that was a bonus. We had the Dinner B&B package so was a little disappointed to have a very limited menu offering i.e. 3 starters, 4 mains and 3 desserts but the majority of the Inclusive menu was aimed at Vegans or vegitarians. Restaurant was also inconsistent with food preparation, first 2 nights we had a proper little side salad with the starters or mains however on the last night, it was just lettuce! Our toast for the pate was only toasted on one side and was sent back to the kitchen. We had to wait about 15 mins for porridge or poached eggs, even though there was only about 10 people in for breakfast. Too much food cooked for the buffet breakfast for how many people in for breakfast, thus much of the sausage, bacon and black pudding was very dry.
