Returned for the first time since Q hotels being the owner. Over 30 years since the original renovation - it was good but rooms / corridors starting to look in need of improvements. Enjoyed our two night stay.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Oulton Hall. We especially loved using the swimming pool and spa, the food at the breakfast was also very nice. Parts of the hotel were not looked after properly and needed updating, e.g toilet and changing rooms weren’t in the best condition over time. Some of the staff were friendly but this was not always the case and we didn’t get the warm welcome we would have hoped for in a 4 star hotel. This let down our experience for what could have been beautiful place.

Not overly impressed.
Bathroom not cleaned properly hairs stuck to side of bath from previous customer. Had room service, when I sat down to eat, I found there was no knife and fork to eat with. By the time knife and fork was bought up, food and coffee had gone cold. Breakfast was poor and limiting to someone who doesn't have dairy or fried food.

Wonderful hotel with rich history
Overall fantastic experience. The golf course is nice. If the swimming pool is deeper and longer, then it would be more attractive. A minor problem was that the cleaner started working so early at around 6am and I stayed in a room above the rubbish collection area. Hence, it was a bit noisy in the early morning.

A great place to visit
We stayed for 2 nights at Oulton Hotel and Spa. Our room was clean and spacious. Breakfast and dinner were very good. We made use of the spa facilities, which were included. A very relaxing mid week break in lovely surroundings. Highly recommended.

Good not great
It was good. I have stayed there before, the receptionist was great and got us into a room very early. Dinner was nice and that staff in the restaurant were attentive. The spa staff were a bit ‘meh’. We went to use the gym, signed in but the staff seemed more interested in carrying on their conversations and sort of waved us to the form. Then when we went to get towels for the pool we were asked a little too accusingly if we were members, the fact we had signed in and were guests didn’t seem relevant. So it was nice but not the best and that was down to the service in the spa which put a dampener onthe other good stuff.
