Every member of the staff was very friendly and welcoming from the moment we entered the reception area. The room was exactly as expected and was clean and very well presented throughout. There was a good selection available for breakfast and again the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Our evening meals were taken at the Stables pub, the food was excellent and there was a good selection of quality beers on tap as well as a wide variety of other drinks. We were always served by Chloe who deserves
a special mention as she was perfect in everything she did and made us feel right at home straight away.
Overall we had an excellent stay and will certainly be returning.
We could not fault a single thing or person at all, please keep up the great work you all do.
Thought this hotel would be high standard the setting is lovely how tel clean , but food only average breakfast was self service but cold, coffee at breakfast only warm, . Lunch was not very nice very odd combinations offered , dry puddings no cream or custard .i won’t return
Just what you would expect from four star rating. There was nothing ‘stand out’ about it. At breakfast staff were good but they run out out of several items at the buffet.
A large hotel set in its own grounds.
We had a comfortable double room on the ground floor. It was a bright room with a bay window looking out onto the courtyard and across to stables bar.
We had breakfast included and it was self service, there was a large choice of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt. You could help yourself to a continental or full English. There is even fresh honey straight from their own beehives.
You are a short drive from Leeds city centre. There is a bus stop at the end of the drive if you fancy leaving the car or taxi service.
Didn’t realise we booked an accessible room it gave us the option like all room 2 x twin beds or king size zipped We chose king
Not a very comfy stay as the beds kept separating which I then realised they could not be zipped Reported to reception next day who would have moved us rooms but my husband did not want to mess about Apparently it’s the hotels.com website that is wrong and if we had booked direct through them it wouldn’t of allowed us to make this option
Food ok but not what we are used to when we go away
Very pricey for drinks
No house wine and a standard bottle of Sauvignon £37 wished we’d of taken our own
Weather beautiful so plenty walks/ trails near by
Listening to the occupants of neighboring room having sex for hours Poor insulation
Absolutely freezing rooms, they turn the heating off most of the day
Changed our room but no better
Given a fan heater to use
Breakfast limited and extra payment for any coffee other than basic
Poor customer interaction by staff and little interest in issues
We stayed in a room on the second floor. It was spacious, very clean, and provided a large comfortanle double bed and a separate single bed. The bathroom was in pristine condition. The room was very quiet and we had an undisturbed sleep.
The buffet breakfast provided a range of food to suit everyone's taste. We had a very tasty full English breakfast comprising eggs, bacon, sausages and tomatoes.
There was a pancake making machine but I didn't have the confidence to have a go; maybe next time. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient.
Unfortunately our room smelt of stale smoke, we had very noisy neighbours. Very little sleep. The breakfast hot area; black pudding and hash browns were very under cooked.
We complained to staff but was not offered any compensation. Disappointing
Comfortable, clean, well appointed.
Radiator control was not working correctly in either bedroom or bathroom. Was not resolved.
Bar or foodredit available for any day room servicing was not needed, good idea.
Food options of very good standard.
