Great location, staff is great, room was too small for my comfort.
The property is great for a small b&b. While not fill of modern amenities, it was clean, the staff were very accommodating and offered great views of the Fjord.
Gorgeous view of the fjord - could be better! Reception area had an oder of cigarette smoke but the room and dining area were fresh and clean. Hosts were friendly and the breakfast was very good.
Nothing fancy about this place, but it was clean and comfortable. There was a view of the head of the fjord from our room, which was nice. The owner, who is Eastern European, was very considerate and helpful. Convenient parking in back of the hotel, but a number of steps to climb with luggage to get to reception. The woman's son did help us when we checked out. She served a buffet breakfast, which was nice. There was a biger, fancier hotel up the road a half-mile that we went to for dinner.
Wanted to explore the wild Atlantic and this was a perfect nights stay. We enjoyed a nice dinner at the local pub. Great breakfast and even snuck in a massage at the hotel next door before heading off to see the Abbey. Such an amazing area to visit.

It was convenient to town but very very small room and noisy toilet plumbing
Good waterside lodging for a trip to county mayo. Make sure you having the # of guests staying correct in the booking, there was a significant difference from 2 to 3 guests, despite the room easily accommodating 3 guests.
The view from our room was amazing and it was located in a convenient spot. Quiet town with friendly people. Inexpensive, no frills stay.
Breakfast was not included, which was a surprise for a Bed & Breakfast. We did not find that out until the morning.
The shower did not have much water pressure.

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
This was a good one night stopping place to see Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park and Sky Road. There is an oyster farm not far away as well. The surrounding area is very picturesque but still has some restaurants and shops an easy walking distance.
The furniture in the shared living area is shabby. Though the room furnishings are old and a bit worn it is all clean. The shower has just enough water coming out to get you clean. Overall it’s probably a fair room price for what you get.
Owner was very amicable and kindly let us check in early, which allowed us to leave our luggage so it wasnt sat unattended in the car whilst we had a cruise down the Killary Fjord, breakfast was well presented and very tasty
The Killary Fjord has to be one of the most stunningly beautiful places on Earth.
Standing with our backs to Gaynor’s pub, one of several locations used to film the award winning movie the Field, we stood in awe of the scenery. We had just arrived and after lunch in Galway we drove through gorgeous hills and valleys of Eastern Connemara to arrive at this spot. “Where are we staying?” my travelling companion Kelli asked and as I turned around and pointed I said “There”! We were so excited to see the wonderful white walls of Portfinn Lodge just behind us. The lodge is spotlessly clean, the staff are welcoming and friendly, you have everything you need with some old-world charm. Perfect. But let’s not undermine its finest quality; location. The view from every window could be framed and put on the wall. Even the rear facing ones have incredible vistas of the mountains that tower over it. It is also perfectly located for all the lovely pubs, restaurants and little shop, literally two minutes walk down the little old path that divides it’s pristine front lawns. Among these amenities you’ll find everything you could possibly need to wine and dine on sea food from just a stones throw away, drink a perfect pint of Guinness, shop for local produce, use the little post office or sit in the perfectly lovely Purple Door Café with a coffee, breakfast or lunch. But having eaten your delicious Portfinn Lodge breakfast, you’ll probably be too full. Thank you Portfinn 5⭐️
