This property is great and very cute! Staff was very professional and pleasant. Rooms were clean and the beds were super comfortable. Continental breakfast was a PLUS!

Excellent experience surrounded by nature in a at home environment. I enjoyed petting the lovely cats and sitting around in the gardens and pool side looking at the roosters and peacocks. I will definitely come again!

Nice mountain views. Animals like cats, roosters/hens, peacock and a goose roam the grounds. Supposed to be live music on 2 of the days we were there. We only got 1 day. Upon returning from our activities for the day, we found the room was not serviced. We even asked for additional towels before leaving that morning. The continental breakfast was pretty basic –bread/ bagels, sugary cereals, packaged oatmeal, yogurt, coffee, some tropical fruits. There was one conveyer toaster and 2 single cup coffee makers. One was out of order. Not practical for the high traffic during breakfast. Rooms were large and clean but dated. Lamps on the nightstand used pull chains instead of switches to turn on/off lights. Didn’t always work the first try. Door lock used a key and was finicky. Had to ask the staff to show me the “technique” in opening it. Drapes and sheer curtains didn’t completely cover the entire window. Curtain rods not long enough? No phone or clock in the room. Bathroom was narrow with no hooks to hang things. Some of the louvered windows lacked handles to open/close them. The Niumalu Rd Bridge was closed and understood it had been closed for months. There is only one way out using Hulemalu and Halehaka Roads adding additional travel time, if you’re heading north. For those not used to night driving, where there is no ambient lighting, that can be challenging. No restaurants/stores in the vicinity. Bring what you need or be prepared to drive out or take a looong walk.

There are no restaurants or cafes nearby so bring your food or plan to drive out. But, what a location!!!

The Kauai Inn has a lot of history and you can feel it once you are on the property. Cats roam the proprty with peacocks. You may even spot a wild pig. You can hear Hawaiian music throughout the property. The gorgeous mountains in the background take you to another time. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay for the breakfast included in the price.

Room needs maintanence - cabinets peeling, light shining into room from doorway direct to bed but, we enjoyed our one night's stay & really appreciated finding a room for five. Parking was limited. Service was good & nice continental breakfast & seating by the pool.

This property is older but well maintained. Relaxing outdoor areas in garden and around pool. The continental breakfast had a lot options. Staff was helpful, friendly, welcoming and warm.

Great find and beautiful area.
Beautiful area away from the hustle and bustle of Lihue. Very friendly and accommodating. This is not a 5 star hotel that you are going to pay 400-500 a night but instead it is a beautiful area, clean and comfortable. Upon our arrival we were given beads which was a nice surprise. Continental breakfast was very nice and coffee was great. The hospitality was wonderful.

A little piece of paradise.
It is a beautiful place, nice pool, live music on the weekend, a variety of breakfast options including local fresh fruit, and very causal Hawaiian vibe. Management really cares about their guests. They greeted us with shell & seed necklaces, plumeria hair clip, and a hibiscus flower. They also have a laundromat and offer beach towels at the front desk. The TV reception was a bit spotty, but the WiFi worked great.

I stayed at the Kauai Inn for 4 nights and enjoyed every single night I was there! It has a very unique feel to it and had lots of night time activities. You can tell that all of the workers really care about the place and want to ensure you enjoy your stay. Overall, it’s a great way to relax and have a fun time by yourself of with family! There are a few things to note: the breakfast is a true “grab and go” style that features muffins, croissants, bagels, toast, yogurt, cereal, various fruit (cut it yourself), juice, milk, tea, and coffee, the pool is only 3 feet all around, there are a lot of animal noises (earplugs are provided), no ventilation fan in the bathroom (just a window), and the rooms have a vintage feel to them. I don’t think these things should deter you from staying here, but think it would be helpful to know these beforehand.
