We had a great time at HAWS, a surprising and interesting boutique apartment hotel. While outside of the core city, it was easy to travel in via Bolt and most of the tours were happy to pick up and drop off from the location. The location has a Lidl very close by for basic shopping needs, and there are some eateries locally which rate well. There is the option of room service too, if too tired to contemplate anything else.
While the area is a little noisy and colourful at night, the double glazing in the unit cuts almost all of the noise and the air conditioning was exceptionally good, with per room controls.
The hotel apartment itself was very comfortable and had a fully usable kitchen, and the staff were always very kind and thoughtful throughout our stay. The reception always has cover and the team will happily provide refreshments, condiments, small household items and a little local knowledge too. There is lift access to the upper floors for ease too.
While we were only 3 people, there was sleeping arrangements for 6 with the sofa bed, and with 2 bathrooms with walk-in showers, no real concerns. The lounge in our unit had a tv with some local channels but the staff lent us a tv stick so we could stream tv shows as and when we wanted to.
I would go so far as to say this is a hidden gem of a place, and I would highly recommend it for small groups who like to avoid the typical hotel experience. We had a lovely time there and were pleasantly surprised overall.
