After viewing the Hotel Mundial web site, I was intrigued about this hotel, it looked modern and had a good vibe. I would like to say that I was quite disappointed. First of all, they are going through major renovations right now and to get around, including to the reception was confusing at first. I wasn’t advised that the property was doing renovations, otherwise I would have booked another hotel. The 2 nights I stayed there were loud and noisy with a lot of banging. I did not get any proper sleep and had to be at the airport early one morning at 4 am. I had requested a room with a nice view but I did not get that. my room was very old with old decor and smelt like smoke was sunk in the carpet and walls. It wasn’t pleasant, even my washroom was old and the shower was almost not working. For the amount of money I paid for my stay, I really expected better! When I wanted to go to the rooftop to view, I was advised there was a private party going on so that was also disappointing. The only positives I can think of are the bellboy, who was friendly, and the man at the front desk who helped me get to my Uber at 4 am in the morning. The area outside the property had a lot of weird people walking around, and it didn’t feel safe, so I am glad he assisted me and walked me to the Uber car. Very nice and professional man. I wish I had more better things to say but with the loud noises, renovations, unpleasant smell, my room and booking in general, I was not happy for what I paid.

The Mundial is the best of the best and in every respect. The location is ideal for anything and everything, the rooms are well kept, the service is impeccable, breakfast is sumptuous. Very highly recommended.

Overall this property was good for our stay. Just a few issues we had, our allergies weren’t constantly aggravated in the room, not sure if it’s the carpet, curtains, or sheets. The next issue we had was obtaining an iron to prep our clothes for our excursions/tours. When I asked for an iron to be sent to the room, we were told all irons are out for use right now. When I asked how many were in the hotel, I was told 3 for the whole place which is crazy. Nonetheless you have to keep calling to get one and when you do, iron your clothes for the entire stay because you may not get one again. The fire station being so close made it a little noisy some nights. The shower head mount in our bathroom was loose and kept rotating or causing the shower head to fall so it was tough showering. Our AC leaked from the bottom onto the carpet, didn’t know until I stepped in it with socks on. The rooftop bar is nice for the views, the menu is rather limited however. The breakfast was probably the best thing ever. If you all can work on these issues, I’d def put 5 stars and be a returning customer, but for now, this was a one time deal.

This is a great central location. The rooftop bar and restaurant were amazing. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean, comfortable and met our expectations for a major hotel in a key city.
