Made a last minute booking and had no idea where we were staying. Happily surprised with being at a vineyard the first day of grape picking.
It’s our first trip to Portugal, and we wanted to explore a bit. If I had a week, I’d love to stay here. It’s central to everything in the area, and it’s be fun to work with the horses a bit. It’s clear that if you are a horse person, this place is top notch.
The house we stayed in was very comfortable, and the estates wines were very good. Bought a bottle of brandy to take home with us too.
Be advised, this is a working vineyard. It’s family owned, and the focus is on horses if you’re not there for the wine. There aren’t wait staff available at every minute to cater to your every need. Nor should there be. My only issue with the place is that it’s not in the USA, so if I want to visit again, it’s a 17 hour trip to do so!
