A Delightful Escape with a Few Things to Plan For
Such a charming place, perfectly situated near the beach and just a short drive from the quaint town of Mendocino. It was a lovely little getaway for me and my dog.
This is a hostless hotel, which I didn’t mind at all—their texting staff was incredibly attentive and quick to respond to any questions I had. I especially appreciated the early check-in notification, allowing me to settle in two hours before the standard 4 PM check-in time.
The atmosphere here is so peaceful. My only minor complaint is that the room stayed a bit warm, but they provided a box fan, which helped a lot. Other than that, I was very comfortable throughout my stay.
I visited for a hiking trip, and after a long day on the trails, it was wonderful to come back, unwind by the fireplace, and enjoy the chardonnay provided by the hotel. The only downside is that food options are quite limited—there's no fast food, DoorDash isn’t available, and the nearby Little River Market closes at 7 PM. After a long hike, I was starving and had to drive into Mendocino for basic groceries. However, with better planning next time, this won’t be a deal-breaker for me.
All in all, this place is absolutely adorable, full of charm and comfort, and I will definitely be coming back!
