For anyone wanting to "get away from it all" this provides a unique opportunity. No phone signal and no internet in the area where the Shepherd huts are situated provides perfect peace. The accommodation is absolutely beautiful, and superbly functional, everything you need is here. In an area which is very close to the Beacons National Park, close enough for access and far enough away from the "beaten tourist path" to offer solitude and peace and quiet. The local town of Llangadog offers places to eat and shop, eat out or shop and eat in, either experience is worth trying. A supper in the huts, a glass of wine on the decking veranda and stare up at the stars and contemplate the universe.
I wanted to stay forever and not leave the peace and tranquil ambience which envelops the area. This is a definite revisit for me, just an amazing place and unique gemstone. There are some very well considered finer details, a book on the history of restoration of Shepherds Huts, authentic fittings and furniture. A wood burning stove which in winter with a crisp frost or sprinkle of snow would be comforting and warming.
I really, truthfully and honestly cannot recommend Black Mountain Breakaway enough.
