Stunning Grand Country House, Fabulous Sea Views in Llwyngwril Snowdonia (Eryri)

Llechwedd, meaning hillside in English, was built in 1911 and is a former country seat of historical note. The house enjoys outstanding sea views from its elevated position, and is surrounded by extensive private gardens. It is located within the Snowdonia National Park, in the popular coastal village of Llwyngwril. With good transport links along the coast using the Cambrian Railway line, it is close to many of the attractions of this beautiful area of Snowdonia (Eryri) . A perfect spot for cyclists and walkers, the Wales Coastal Path runs along the lane behind the house and Cadair Idris is 5 miles away. Mountain Bike enthusiasts can enjoy Coed y Brenin, with it's world renowned Mountain Bike Centre, as well as the Mawddach Trail. There is a local beach within walking distance, and for families, the traditional seaside town of Barmouth is situated across the estuary. There is a village shop within 150m of the house and a pub 100m away.

Llechwedd can comfortably sleep 8 - 10 persons in 4 bedrooms, all with sea views.

Bedroom 1 - King Size Bed with sofa bed
Bedroom 2 - Twin Beds
Bedroom 3 - Single Bed with pull out single bed
Bedroom 4 - Double Bed

There are 2 bathrooms upstairs. Bathroom 1 can be either used as an ensuite with bedroom 1 to create a master suite, or used as a family bathroom. Bathroom 2 is located next to Bedroom 4 and has a dressing room attached with additional sleeping facilities.

Downstairs there is a Drawing room with 3 sofas, a cosy multi fuel fire with complimentary logs, and fabulous sea views. The lounge has a sofa, dining table for 10 and again has sea views. Both rooms have tv's and dvd players. We have provided books, cd's, dvd's and board games for children and adults alike.

The breakfast kitchen is well equipped with a kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. We have a dining table seating 4. Off the breakfast kitchen, the main kitchen has a family sized fan assisted electric range cooker and dishwasher. Off the main kitchen there is a large pantry with a fridge freezer. There is also a downstairs w.c. Externally there is a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The private gardens are a real feature of the house extending to some 1.5 acres. There is a unique turreted garden room, again with lovely sea views to Cardigan bay, and a summer house with adjacent views to Barmouth and the Snowdonia mountain range. Surrounding the house there is a grand terrace, which has several more vantage point views of the sea and mountains. There is a garage, and external parking for up to three cars.

We have refurbished Llechwedd so that it retains all of its original and characterful features, but with every modern convenience you would expect to enjoy, including complimentary wifi and Netflix tv. This is how our guests have described Llechwedd - spotless, grandiose, characterful, quirky, spacious, comfortable. There are few straight lines or chic minimalist layouts to be found. Llechwedd is for guests who appreciate charm and history with modern amenities, yet in a grand Edwardian country house setting.

Beautiful property in lovely setting
What a wonderful rental. From start to finish the management of all communications has been amazing. Lovely gifts welcomed us including something special for the kids. The house and gardens is so well maintained and we had everything we needed from the point of view of facilities. This is the best rental property I have stayed in with respect to service and attention to detail. It was a shame the weather didn't allow us to make more use of the garden and its stunning views. Thank you Linda and Mark for an enjoyable stay.

Beautiful property and location
We had a fantastic holiday. The house is so comfortable and we particularly enjoyed relaxing in the lovely lounge, the summer house and all over the garden. The garden in particular is beautiful- the children loved exploring it and there are so many different places to sit and relax. The views were incredible. We did a couple of day trips to local places of interest and had a fantastic walk along the coast path going north. The village was nice and the beach was perfect for rock pools and paddling. All in all it was a fantastic holiday and we would love to come back.

Lovely house, great views.
The house has lots of character and fantastic views. The house was clean and tastefully decorated with everything that we needed for our stay. The log fire in the front room was especially welcome though the central heating was efficient and warmed the house quickly. I cooked for the family every day and found the kitchen facilities very good and all the bits that I could possibly need right there. The garden was lovely and we were an easy walk to the beach, pub and local shop. A great venue for a family getaway with attentive and helpful hosts.

Amazing week at Llechwedd in Snowdonia
The property is amazing, steeped in history and truly a home away from home. Linda and Mike were incredible hosts, sending recommendations on things to do and keeping us informed on check-in. On arrival, we were welcomed with an unexpected welcome pack and personalised welsh teddies for our kids (a really nice touch). There were seven of us in all and the house is incredibly spacious and interesting to explore with everything you would need. The garden is outstanding, sea views, BBQ, garden games and plenty of places to sit, eat, drink and relax. Our kids didn't want to leave!! The house is located in Llwyngwril on the West Coast of Wales near Barmouth and Snowden National Park. Close to some great beaches at Fairbourne, Barmouth and Aberdovey. Highly recommend driving into Snowden National Park to visit Portmerion, Betws-y-Coed and even take on Snowden (the views are well worth the effort). We Couldn't recommend Llechwedd more highly, had an unforgettable week and will definitely come back.

A little Paradise
From the moment we stepped onto the property we couldn't believe how beautiful everything was from the house, to the gardens and the amazing scenery. The house is very spacious and we all had different rooms to go into, so we all had our own space too. On arrival we had a gorgeous welcome pack. All our beds were made beautifully and the place had a luxurious feel to it. We sat in the garden each night till 2am watching the shooting stars. My 10 year old son has autism and he absolutely loved the place, he was sad that we had to leave. We would definitely like to return as it is so peaceful. We would highly recommend this house to a big family. The village is also quiet which I really liked. 25 minutes drive away is Barmouth beach which has beautiful clean sands with a clear sea too. We all enjoyed the swimming daily. We have all made such amazing memories. Thank you Linda and Mark for allowing us to stay at your property. Thank you from Samantha Fisher & Family xx

Stunning views from house and garden!
Beautiful old house and gardens with stunning sea views from every aspect. Communication with the hosts was amazing from start to finish - prompt responses, lots of useful information and very caring. Extensive welcome back and the house had loads of space for everyone. The local shop and pub, just down the lane, were both very handy. Short walk to the local beach (this is pebbles not sand) and some amazing sunsets. The house is very old and still has a lot of its original features. Lots of places to visit nearby with the local train station (request stop) handy for a lovely coastal journey in either direction. Overall, a lovely week away with family.

Amazing sea views
We had a wonderful time at Llechweddd - the photos were spot on but it was so much better in real life! There were sea views from all rooms, and the garden was beautiful. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed many bbqs with a view. The girls enjoyed exploring the house and gardens which are extensive, and everything was well thought out and comfortable. The area is stunning, the coastal road is a daily treat on your way to the beach. We enjoyed Aberdyfi and Harlcech. Thoroughly recommend - with a huge thanks to Mark and Linda for all the help and brilliant communication. Thanks again! We’ll be back!

Wonderful break in a gorgeous house
A family holiday to celebrate an 80th birthday. Amazing communication from Mark and Linda - really thoughtful and helpful. House was spotlessly clean with lovely bedrooms and a gorgeous lounge with sea views, big windows and a wood burner to curl up in at the end of a day's walking. Baskets of goodies and birthday treats on arrival were much appreciated and a lovely touch. The garden was particularly gorgeous with plenty of space to find a peaceful spot - we looked forward to coming home to a sunny coffee on the patio. Our favourite space though was the garden room (or the 'eyrie' as we called it!) Perfect little spot to have a g and t before dinner and so sociable. The village has a pub (not open all week) and little shop for essentials. Great walks close by and an hour or so to Snowdon/Betws y coed. A great time - thank you.

Grandad’s 70th Birthday
Grandad’s 70th Birthday bash couldn’t have been bettered. We had the family with us for the half term and then tagged on a few extra days for friends to join us. Mark and Linda went the extra mile to meet our needs and we can’t thank them enough. The location was perfect for our family holiday and the local pub also went out of their way to accommodate vegans in the party by allowing us to take our own nut roast for Sunday lunch. The house has stunning views, plenty of outdoor space for the whole family and more than enough room for large groups. A memorable celebration enjoyed by all. Perfect hosts with thoughtful personalised touches to make this a special event. Thank you.

Had a wonderful stay in this property. Linda and Mark are very helpful with suggestions of places to visit especially as one of or group cannot walk very far. With this In mind, please note although close, it's a steep walk back from the pub and shop. The garden is a lovely tranquil place to sit in, but not easily accessible for those with mobility issues. Saying this, it's just as nice to sit up near the house. A beautiful welcome pack was there to greet us, so the kettle could go on straight away! If you're like me, and don't want to go food shopping as soon as you land, tesco do deliver to the address. There is a well stocked kitchen, and plenty of room to not feel on top of each other and the sofas are very comfy to relax on after a day out.

The description and photos do not do justice!
We had a lovely stay in this very clean and comfortable house. We do not think that the description and photos do justice to this lovely retreat! The house was spotless, the COVID precautions were logical, reassuring and not intrusive. The gardens are beautiful and there always seemed somewhere to find the sun Great walking was literally on the doorstep. We particularly enjoyed late evening bat watching from the terrace.
