Quirky old pub with an interesting history, just off Brockwell Park. Has a great bar, the breakfasts were excellent and staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
Our bedroom was well equipped with a coffee machine and nice selection of coffees and teas, bottled water and fresh milk - a nice touch. We also appreciated the little gift left outside our bedroom on Christmas morning.
Only gripes were that our bedroom was a bit dingy - the decor could do with cheering up a little and the window looked out onto a wall - which I wasn't expecting and would have preferred it otherwise. The bed was a bit lumpy and bedding rather ill-fitting, though it was fresh and clean, as were the towels, which were changed daily. Also there was a ventilation chute boxed into the corner of the room, which obviously ran up from the kitchen, as it was quite noisy. Oh, and the mirror in the bathroom is small and set too high on the wall - I had to stand on my tip-toes to put make-up on, which wasn't fun. Small details which, if attended to would make for a really fantastic stay.
