After check-in, we arrived at our room and realized that the air conditioner didn’t work. We quickly called down to the front desk and they said maintenance would come check on it, which they did. Never heard back within the 30 minutes the maintenance workers said we would, so we called again. Another worker came up and said she would let us know. 30 minutes later, we called back and were told it can’t be fixed and no extra rooms. Not ideal when traveling with little kids. After returning to the hotel, we spoke to new front desk workers and they didn’t know about our problem and they do have 2 separate rooms available (accommodate 4 total). We took those. Horrible communication at this hotel. Rooms outdated, dirty, carpet is old. The fresh paint doesn’t matter.

We liked the location. Very close to the Underground and shopping areas. We stayed 3 nights under 2 separate reservations, but the staff was unable to keep us in the same rooms, which was a bit inconvenient. Fortunately, they were able to keep our luggage stored for the day while we visited the city.

I liked this hotel for its location near the British Museum and 3 big train stations, and friendly front desk staff. I would have stayed more nights, but the price more than doubled based on supply and demand, with summer starting. I would stay here again if I got the affordable price.
