A Bare Bones, Zero Amenity Hotel
PLEASE UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS HOTEL IS ABOUT BEFORE BOOKING YOUR STAY HERE. To start, you will be advised that you can check in early for a fee... or store your luggage for a fee... You will then need to check yourself in, like a self check-out at the grocery store, despite a fair number of staff standing around. You'll then quickly realize that there are no windows in this whole hotel, in the lobby, in your room, nowhere... once you are settled into your amenity free room (no TV, no hairdryer, no iron), you then think "What is this??" It's literally like a prison cell here! A review of the hotel's website acknowledges that there are in fact special rooms to do your ironing or hairdrying, or, you can get one in your room, for a fee... And if that's not enough, you even have to walk down to the front desk to obtain a roll of toilet paper, since they don't replace it in your room, unless of course you have paid for full room services upon your booking.
We have done a fair amount of travelling, all across North America, Italy, Ireland and Scotland, and this complete inconvenience of a hotel is by far the worst we have ever stayed. I will add that the hotel is in a great location, but there are a lot of other hotels in the immediate area.
