We chose Chautaqua for a room with an ocean view to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. The ocean was further away than we expected, but we still appreciated the view. We were on the 3rd floor & there was only one elevator. We would have appreciated one closer to our room. The room was immaculate. We had breakfast provided on the day we left. There was lots to choose from & it was all good.

Let’s just say this place is far from perfect. The potential for the property to be in really good shape is there, but I’m sure there’s only one maintenance person available to do all the work for that entire property. The sofa bed was the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on in my life and it was broken. Half of the lights weren’t working and the clock on the wall hadn’t had their batteries changed in a while. The floor in the bedroom was terribly stained and the bathroom walls were extremely outdated and falling apart. We spent a lot of money for a nice weekend just for them to tell us that our five-year-old can’t go in the hot tub. With a little bit more maintenance that place could be really nice and the owners need to do something about the hot tub situation. I also have never been told my kid can’t go in a hot tub anywhere we have ever stayed! The staff was friendly, there were sand toys left out on the porch for the kids if they wanted them. I just think that this place needs a little bit more work to make it somewhere I would want to come back to.

The room was clean and very nice. Would have loved another comfy chair. Bed was uncomfortable, had to use blankets to soften the mattress. That was the only negative. Great room, clean, loved the view.

Sand between the sheets...GROSS!!!
Checking in was fast and easy. The outside area was clean and inviting. But the BIG TURN OFF was both beds in the room had sand between the sheets! TOTALLY GROSS!!! And a cigarette butt in a draw. Their housekeeping dept. need some training.

We recently stayed at Chautauqua resort 3 nights. We loved the free bikes, breakfast and the fire pit area. Our room had not been remodeled so was just ok. I believe several of the upper floor are remodeled. The grass dunes were very pretty and the bike trail was very accessible. Short drive to restaurants.

Spacious. Comfortable beds. Great staff/check in experience. Breakfast. Pool. Location— distance to the beach & town perfect. 10/10, will stay again. The *only* downside is the dog barking in another room from 6-7:15am… next time, I’ll ask not to be near a room with dogs staying. Love dogs, but not other people’s at 6am.

Staff was super friendly and I was able to check in early - the room was comfortable and clean (wish the floor was lightly carpeted, my furbaby was slipping and sliding on the hard floors). This is right on the walking path to get to the beach, so it is super convenient. The parking lot is big and spacious but there is not good lighting outside of front and back of the property (the condos seem to have better outdoor lighting but not the hotel rooms) so I was leery of walking my pup in the dark. Lots of food options nearby.

Dogs howling was irritating starting at 7 am other than that rooms clean beds are comfortable. No room service. Which is something i enjoy with fresh bed made daily garbage cleaned etc. Although we didnt use much of the amenities on site. Breakfast was descent. The walkway to rrooms felt questionable sunken fkoors
