This was a nice property, a little hard to find because so many hotels in the area are listed as Hotel Marina del Ray. The evening staff in the restaurant was non existent. However after waiting a long time to be seated and no one showed up we sat at the bar. The food was great and the bar tender was very pleasant. The next morning we had breakfast in the restaurant, it was very staffed and the food was ok. If not for the restaurant I have given them a 5 star. All the staff we met were awesome.

The place was dated - the lift made weird pinging noises and was old. The rooms were a bit dated and the furniture had been worn hard - the bedside table was damaged and peeling. It didn't give the feeling or 4 star usually considered with a Hilton property

A disappointing stay
We were placed in a room that did have running water. We called the front desk they sent up a repair man. After 20 minutes we asked the technician how much longer and he said he did not know. At that point, we called the front desk and explained the situation. The woman said we could continue to wait as the hotel was fully booked. Due to the sink being in the bathroom, we were also unable to use the toilet. We explained we needed to be moved. The woman had a slight attitude, we were put on hold and she finally said she could move us to a lower level. We accepted this and were placed in a room that did not have a closet the ironing board had hangers on it. The room was clean but had the feeling that it was a transitional spot. There was no follow-up nor offer of a complimentary anything. In today's world where customer service is key, this was very disappointing.

The hotel was a gem to find in the area. It was clean, quiet and within walking distance to nice restaurants and shopping. It is also very close to LMU for parents wishing to visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely return again.

The only concern that I have is that there’s nothing in place to stop anyone from coming into the hotel after dark. No room key required to get in the elevator.

Good stay, but a luke warm welcome.
Loved the hotel, the facilities and location. I was apprehensive after reading many poor reviews but turned out better than expected. Front desk was a bit underwhelming, not much of a welcome just got the job done. When looking for a cab one evening I couldn't get one on from the QR code recommended and front desk said they couldn't (or wouldn't) help me at all in securing a cab. They said they had no other number. Not sure how much of a kick back the hotel is getting from the one they advertise. I found a way without their help.

We loved the proximity to shopping and restaurants & the hotel has a great bar and pool to swim, layout and enjoy! We reserved a suite in room 200, it wasn't very quiet, hence the 4 star rating. A loud humming sound filled the room frequently, for a room suite it was disappointing.

Generally, the property was good, the only exceptions were that the carpets were dated and rippling in hallways and the cost of the breakfast was ridiculous. Otherwise, it was clean and the staff were helpful.
