To start parking was not included for guests, and the $53 a night is ridiculous. Our toilet had a clog before we got there.

45 min for check in. Only 3 staff at the check in counter for 50 people in line. Windows at the exterior were very dirty and had webs around the window frame, thats how dirty they were. The plaza area was deserted and vacant and it did not look good. No restaurant for breakfast, etc... The power to part of the hotel was out due to the age of the hotel.....

The property is old and not well maintained. Most spaces in common area were vacant and deserted. The outside of our room window was very dirty with webs around the window frame from so much dirt. There was only 2 staff to check in 50 people and it took me 50 min to check in, the longest I have ever experienced.

Everything about the property itself was fantastic. Gorgeous view, nice pool and three restaurants. I was particularly grateful that, at check in, the concierge noticed I was traveling alone and was careful to show me my room number, rather than say it for the other people in line to hear. This is nothing against the Westin itself, but travelers should know the neighborhood is not great. I would never walk around this part of LA at night. Even at 11:00 AM a short walk to the bookstore was unsettling. Uber drops you right at the front door though, and it’s very safe inside.

Nightmare and disappointing Stay
Our stay at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel was a nightmare. There was a water outage and a loss of electricity for several hours on August 7th. We decided to return to the hotel for dinner on the rooftop. Upon arriving, we saw ambulances and firefighters at the hotel and quickly learned there was no electricity. We couldn’t get to our room, so we waited in the lobby. The electricity briefly returned but went out again, and we saw people getting stuck in the elevators. I couldn’t use the restrooms because people had used them without flushing due to the water outage. I felt sick because I was hungry and unable to use the toilets. Eventually, we were relocated to another hotel nearby and were asked to return to the Westin Bonaventure the next day. When we returned, we were checked in by a rude receptionist named Sophia, as mentioned by a previous reviewer. I requested a complimentary breakfast since we were relocated around midnight, and all the restaurants were closed by then, leaving me with nothing to eat. She declined the request and asked if we wanted to leave. It’s disappointing that we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the hotel’s beautiful architecture. However, the management team, especially William and E, were nice, and E was particularly helpful with our relocation.

The Heavenly bed is as comfortable as always. It was just disappointing that not only was their garage full our entire stay, but they don't have electric charging stations for EVs. Hopefully they will upgrade for the future.

TL;DR: Support is godawful, if you go I sincerely hope you don’t end up needing them. Had a mysterious ~$200 charge on my account after I checked out - wasn’t the hold, and I got no receipt for it. Staff were unhelpful and then unresponsive when I was trying to figure out what the charge was. I only found out that it was supposedly for one of the two nights I stayed via their response to my bank when I disputed the charge. This despite having prepaid both nights through expedia. I have contacted the hotel and support again with the updated information and haven’t heard back, 9 business days later. The hotel was nice, but because of this absolute snafu I can’t really look back on my stay fondly.

On Aug 7,24 we were celebrating my son’s birthday. When we arrived to the hotel there was no power. The staff mentioned the power would be returning any minute and checked our bags. We left to the Dodgers game and upon returning the front desk had long lines. While waiting in line the front desk staff would allow others to cut in line so they could be checked in. When my husband complained about this the lady at the front desk indicated she would not be helping us check in because he was being rude. After an hour of waiting the managers from Westin assisted everyone and advised the stay would be complimentary due to the power outage earlier and Westin Hotel not having running water at the time. The process was frustrating. Water was restored Aug 8th at 8am. To conclude, the stay wasn’t complimentary as they’ve advised the agency I booked the hotel with. I will not be returning to this hotel. It was a Very bad experience and rude staff.
