My wife liked the small room and the fact it was not the standard hotel.

Location is a short walk distance to the Marina and Medano beach. This is a cheap hotel with bed, tv and hot shower, nothing fancy. Very limited parking for two or three cars otherwise street parking. No coffee or room service for daily cleaning
Well the lady there she has a terrible angry humor

It was just ok the hotel isn't a 3 star. But the ladies running, cleaning, are the back bone. My room was made every day, showers can us some work. Beds aren't great. But it serviced my purpose. Close to Marina, easy downtown/ city center. Easy access. They really did go out of there way to help me. But looks as though it also work in progress. Has a resturant accross the road, for a young couple and and looking for place it's ok. No Wi-Fi in room where I was. But it was good.
I arrived at hotel Melida after an exhausting flight since I needed somewhere for my first night. The outside looked fun and colourful, so you’ll be greatly disappointed when you go inside. I would warn against anyone staying here. There are no amenities on site, my bed was dirty, no WiFi in the rooms, ants on the walls and my loo didn’t even flush! The most important thing I needed was a phone to change my flights and guess what?.. the phone didn’t work.
The only slight positive is that the lady who runs it was nice but she wouldn’t go out of her way to help you.
The next 4 days I stayed in a 4 star hotel for less so I was truly gutted to choose this place.
Convenient location and excellent breakfast in the morning

Centrally located downtown
Nice no-frills hotel located within walking distance of everything in the downtown area, clean rooms and a friendly staff, A/C and cable tv are the only amenities and that's all that I needed as everything I do is away from the hotel, great value for the price.
I come to Cabo often, to spend time with my boyfriend who had to leave USA to go back to Mexico. Because of how often I visit him, I need the most economical lodging I can find, as I'm not really on vacation when I go there. This place is the cheapest place on Expedia's website, which is the reason that I picked it. This was my second time staying here. This time I stayed at Hotel Melida for a week. It's a basic motel. Staff doesn't interact much with guests and they never came in to clean the entire time I was there, but I didn't ask them to. I'm sure they would have, if I had requested cleaning.
Needed the hotel last minute because my boyfriend and I were staying in different all-inclusive hotels, and they wouldn't let us go to each others. Considering it was the cheapest in the area, you really get what you pay for. The thin mattress was attached to a "box-spring" that was actually just cement attached to the wall. Bathroom light didn't turn on at all when I got there. Tv didn't have a remote. Walls were super thin and there was a bloody hand-print stain on the wall.
Stranger's hair on the bed,
you can hear all the noise from outside, even what people are talking about.
When you take shower all the water goes into your room.
Some staffs are kind but some isn't
Its too expensive than what they deserve.
But if you only want to sleep but nothing else, its okay.

Room was simple. No phone in room. Value for price.
The hotel was nice, but the breakfast that came with the price we skipped - all that is offered is sugary cereal and coffee. Located within a short walk to the marina. No chairs provided in the rooms. The managers were very nice and responsive to all questions and concerns.
Beds are just a slab of concrete with a mattress. No hot water when we were there. Did have wifi. Is only a couple blocks from the Cabo Wabo and downtown. Good enough for a cheap place to crash.
Loved Hotel Melida! They were very sweet, my room was cleaned every day, there was air conditioning, and the first be of the best restaurants in cabo across the street!
The room reeked of mildew, the gravel courtyard had rubble and dog feces, and there were roaches. I have backpacked around Latin America and this was by far the worst room I have ever stayed in.
I don't understand when you book an 8 day stay you must change rooms. Lost 1 day of holidays waiting to change rooms. For those who can wait the extra day for the correct room, is great. It is close to everything you want including the restaurant across the street, very cost effective and great food. Go there, as apposed to 2 blocks away for three times the price. PLEASE NOTE, this is cost effective and very nice place to stay.

Good neighborhood, excellent staff
We stayed at the Hotel Melida shortly after Hurricane Odile took its toll on Cabo San Lucas. We were hoping to experience some of Mexico's people and understand more about their recovery process after the disaster. The hotel staff were amazingly eager to help, very friendly, and always pleasant to deal with. It should be noted that this establishment is not a five-star hotel, so don't expect fancy digs when staying here. There was hot coffee in the morning, though, and wi-fi available in the lobby. Some, but not all, of the staff spoke English. The room was kept clean, and we had no concerns for safety in the residential neighborhood across from a local school. My family had a good experience staying here!

Reasonable basic hotel
If you want a basic hotel, and are more interested in getting out and about in the town and to the beach instead of lounging around in the room, this will be OK. There are plenty of nice places to eat around there. The accommodation is basic but adequate - the shower had hot water, the bed was obviously well used but functional. No hotel safe (thought I'd read in some review that it did, but it didn't) but everything worked OK. The internet worked in the lounge area.
Due to the fact there is no pool and there are other adult activities around the hotel, I would not recommend for families or romantic getaways. For singles or couples looking for a cheap place that is close to everything with friendly staff, I would recommend it. Close to the marina, Cabo Wabo (overrated), the beaches and lots of restaurants. Wifi is available for free in the lobby and you get hot showers, tv (approx. four English channels) and a/c. Can be a little loud as the hotel is right on the street, but there is no traffic during the night.
The staff are very nice, the room had tv, a/c, hot water and wifi in the lobby. It was a very typical Mexican hotel, no pool, no real amenities, a bed and a bathroom. Very close to the marina, the mall and the beach so that is a plus. The cons were the working girls that used the rooms in the hotel and the traffic in the morning. The hotel is right on the roads (three feet) and around 8am the traffic starts so it feels like you are right beside the road. It is safe and they do lock the front gate overnight but they do let people use the rooms for brief encounters.
