First, I want to start with the positives. The customer service was great. The resort manager, Cesar, was excellent and tried to make the stay pleasurable. Our room was decent and clean. Refrain from being deceived by the pictures. The Marketing for this resort has done an amazing job making the RIU look awesome. It is far from it. The food was absolutely terrible. It was cafeteria-style and more like school food. The steakhouse was awful. The Mexican restaurant was OK. It was the best out of all choices. Everyone in the family had stomach issues by the end of the trip. I got crackers, and it was the best meal I ate at the resort. It was filthy, and the pool area lacked shade. The umbrellas were beaten up and provided no shade as they were old and worn. The cabanas were stained, and the shades were torn and worn. The noise levels were off the charts. People were so rude and loud in the hotel hallways. When the room service dishes were collected in the mornings, it sounded like pots and pans banging together. We have stayed at six different resorts in Cabo, and this one was the worst. We will never stay here again. It is unfortunate because there are a lot of small things that they could do to make it so much better. I am in property management, and the small things matter. Spend money on the pool area as everyone is there all day. The average temperature in Mexico is 82 degrees. People want shade in the summer months as it is very hot.

You get what you pay for. If you are on a budget then this is the spot for you. I guess you can call the Riu the Carnival cruise of resorts. Food was bland, very limited food options for room service, a weird towel card system, watered down alcohol… they also don’t do reservations for restaurants because it's first come first serve so you might not get to try them all. We wanted to dine at the asian restaurant but the host in the front said they were booked even though there were a lot of open seats. The staff were alright, you can tell they're just there to get paid. The only one who really made an effort for us to feel welcome was Fernando. He always made sure we were having a good time. He deserves a raise. If you want good food, service, staff, and experience then I suggest going somewhere else.

Brought my girlfriend here for he 30th and we had a blast. All the staff was friendly and there was something to do at all hours. Definitely will be coming back

The pools were nice but a little hot. We were hoping the water would be a little cooler. The junior suite was nice. The staff was also super friendly.

Beautiful hotel on the beach
This hotel was absolutely gorgeous and it’s right on the beach. Plenty of restaurants and bars, the food is pretty good and the Service was excellent

We love Riu and have been stayed there many many times. But this time buffet food was not like always, choices were much less than before with limited options. Food was always one of their best feature but not this time. Entertainment was not great either in the evenings compared to passed shows.

Liked adult only. Did not like Italian restaurant. I had to get room keys recoded on 4th day of 7th day stay. Men's bathroom between steak house and buffet by both motion sensor turns off lights after only about 10 seconds needs adjustment so you are not standing in dark

We had a great time. The staff was very friendly and would always go out of their way to make sure you were enjoying yourself. The Elite Club is the way to go!!! RIU parties were a blast!
