New Owners
This Best Western was a cheery little hotel but it’s just been bought by some Egyptian Owners who forbid the sale of alcohol or pork products. This will make a huge difference for visitors wanting a full English Breakfast or a glass of wine with their dinner. A bit sad really.

Superb dog friendly hotel
Fantastic hotel that is very dog friendly. It had a box with all dog stuff in it in the room which was a lovely touch and even a mat to put the drink bowls on too.

Check in was a breeze with very helpful and friendly member of staff. Room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked. Breakfast staff cheerful and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely stay again and highly recommend it.

I have stayed in six hotels this week between lands end and Exeter and this little place was by far the best. It lies in a lovely small town and is mostly quiet with only the ringing of the church bells every now and then. I came on a day when their chef was on annual leave (which I knew thanks to an email from them in advance) and the lovely Jane gave me a list of local places to eat that had been suggested by all of the staff together. I was directed to my fab (upgraded!) room which was very clean, modern and had a lovely view of the village. It was also well-stocked with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits which is a treat after being busy all day! The car park was easy to find and secure so I didn’t feel uneasy leaving my car there. The only thing I would say is their leaflets say that their rooms are soundproof and they definitely aren’t as I could hear other guests who at times were loud but thankfully everyone was quiet by 10pm. The door also shakes when anyone else enters or leaves their rooms. Overall, an excellent stay and I would recommend to anyone to stay there for a short stay. Thank you BW!
