Little gem
The property is very beautiful and full of character and charm. The staff was very friendly and warm. We stayed on the top floor where the rooms are a bit older and could probably use a bit of a refresh but were still comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Restaurant was very good.

Truly family and pet friendly
What a delightful spot, for us and our furry friend. A truly family and pet friendly hotel, in a small town beside a river. Pretty gardens for a stroll down to the water, before drinks on the terrace and dinner in the bistro garden. Lots of provision for babies and children, including a small changing area with books and toys. There was even a very smart padded bed provided for the dog! Only thing not to like are the paper cups in the bathroom. They may be ‘green’, but I didn’t enjoy drinking from brown cardboard.

Overnight - wish it was longer
At first I thought the location was remote but it is actually in a very smart town. The restaurant was very good and we had a meal that must have had seven courses. Our room was spacious and quiet, even though we were at the front of the hotel. The owners of the hotel were first-class hosts. Must go again.

Ticks all the boxes, great location, nice room, friendly service and reasonable value. Loue is a lovely place but very quiet but as the restaurant in th hotel was very good we did not need to leav the hotel. Ver good visit.

Charming hotel with lovely garden
We stayed at the Ricordeau for one night whilst en route to the Vendee. We were made most welcome and paid the 12 euro supplement for our dog to stay with us. The room was spacious and very well appointed in a tasteful French style. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant which cost over 30 euros each but was delicious. The hotel has a delightful garden leading down to the river but we didn't get chance to try the pool. All in all, not a cheap overnight stay but a great start to our holiday. We would certainly stay there again.

A very nice hotel in a small village

Reception was very welcoming and informative. The rooms were beautifully appointed and very quiet, beds very comfortable. The restaurant is set in a beautifully individual styled conservatory type room. The menus were limited but beautifully cooked and presented. The wine list was a little bit pricey but a good selection. A luxurious stay!
