"A delightful stay in a quiet room, with great views of the Tamar River. The room was spacious, with a dining area, large comfortable bed and an electric kettle, toaster and fridge. The bathroom was well equipped and clean, with large fluffy towels. Parking was easy, just outside the room. Meals at The Pier Hotel are excellent and affordably priced. We just wish they served breakfast, as well!"

"This property is very close to beaches and the penguin sanctuary. The penguin tour was a real highlight - inexpensive and allows you to get very close to wild penguins. (Suggestion to take an extra layer than you think you will need.). The beaches also beautiful and good for swimming , although you need to be fine with coolish water. Thanks for a great stay. "

"Location and views from property were fantastic. The nearby pilot station cafe is a must to visit. Very windy when we were there which is not the fault of the property but makes the front balcony and beach unusable. The outlook from the living room more than makes up for it. Master suit upstairs is very luxurious. Overall really enjoyed our stay, some small ideas for improvement. Kitchen is strangely sparsely stocked, lots of empty draws. No corkscrew for opening wine. The ad says heaters in every room but the single bed room doesn’t have one and cold for our toddler to sleep in. Bit of an Ant problem a single crumb has ants all over it within about 15 minutes. Blind’s difficult to operate as stringless all tangled up in bedrooms."

"Historic building on large land adjoining mouth of river. Opportunities to take leisurely walks, go on Penguin Night Tour, fishing, dipping feet in water and relax. Communication via email. Key pick up and drop off via a key box. Guests to wash dishes and empty bin before leaving. Comfortable enough stay, four separate rooms which are very soundproof with the thick walls, the temperature inside was cool during the day and warm at night, which was perfect, the mattress was firm. A few small maintenance issues- Kitchen tap needs tightening under sink, flaking paint or surfaces were painted over uneven/flaking paint, brown water stains along and under window and on heater in bathroom, cracked counter top behind hot plate, chipped laminate top on kitchen table. The conservation of these historic buildings deserve to be treated with loving care to honour their historic integrity, they also deserve considered interior fixtures, fittings and design that embraces and enhances their beauty."
